Good news, of course primarily because Bubu seemed like a good kid and I'm glad that the evidence did not support something that seemed to be totally out of his character. Hopefully, it is a painful lesson learned for all involved. I don't know how much he's kept up with his basketball skills in this time that must have been extremely trying for he and his family, but I so no reason he shouldn't be reinstated to the team. If nothing else, Bubu would make for a great practice player this year and hopefully can contend for major playing time in '13-14 with Jones, Naz and Morris.
He's been with the team all season at the home games, so he's stayed involved.
And it is a good lesson to not get yourself in situations where stuff like this could happen. Hopefully Bubu is really completely innocent. But the stigma of the charges will follow him around forever and people will always wonder if they were true. That's a tough burden that could be avoided by not hanging around with bad people.
So the quote from the lawyer in the KCCI article that was linked seems to insinuate that the mother/daughter tampered with the "evidence" (i.e., ripped the blouse she was wearing after it had already been washed to make it appear as if there was some kind of assault) and then lied in their statements. Am I misreading that? Isn't that kind of a big deal?
Glad to hear. I'm also glad to hear that the charges were dropped because "additional evidence" came in. Only her and him will ever know 100% what happened there, but additional evidence causing it to be dropped seems to point to evidence convincing all involved that he was innocent (and thus the charges dropped), and not just the case being dropped because the evidence was weak.
I doubt the kid has just been sitting on the coach eating Fritos. He likely isn't in perfect shape - but it would be a shock if he hasn't been working out.
If he's clear of wrongdoing and Fred deems he should be back on the team - I can't see how he doesn't get playing time. We are thin at PG and Bubu has proven he can play well. Plenty of time to get him worked back in.
If he is back, this makes the team immediately better. Less focus/stress on Lucious. There are times that he needs to take a seat and Fred would get the luxury of sitting him.

That's kind of a huge deal. If the torn clothing was made up it casts doubt on just about everything she testifies to.
I like your ability Will but if Bubu gets the 8 minutes a game to give Lucious a breather I'm ok with Bubu handling the ball before we keep trying the Clyburn experiment.

My thoughts exactly. I don't know anything about this case, so I want to be careful about making any accusations. It just seems crappy that a man is accused of sexual assault, his life (and reputation) are completely messed up, and then several months later the prosecutor says "never mind". The female's name is never mentioned publicly, but the man who is accused is dragged through the mud.
That said, I'm guessing the Bubu isn't completely without blame. He shouldn't have been in this situation to begin with. It's just a horrible situation for all involved (male and female).

This x100. Assuming Bubu isn't completely rusty.
Clyburn playing PG may "work" but it takes him away from what he does best. This could be a big deal towards the end of the year and in the tournaments when Bubu is completely assimilated.

He doesn't have a redshirt available does he? We are just starting to gel and KL has found his stride.
He hasn't been able to practice so there is no way he's in basketball shape.
He will be a RS Sr next year. I'm sure that he could submit a hardship waiver to the NCAA to get a 6th year of eligibility for the 2014-15 season. I highly doubt he will do that though considering we already signed a 2014 PG Clay Custer. I think he is supposed to be Bubu's replacement so I don't see how/why Bubu would file for a 6th year of eligibility. Plus that would only leave us with 1 available scholarship for the 2014 class. So next year will more than likely be his last year. Here are the rosters and depth charts for this year and the next few years.

WVU is next. Beware of coach burning!

Awesome news for him. I can't imagine what a relief it is for him. Now he can go back to normal life. I could see him getting some minutes come February and March. Maybe not in the everyday rotation but depending on the matchup that night. He proved last year he was capable of giving solid minutes off the bench.
