Thread: What is the BIG 12 channel?

    What is the BIG 12 channel?

    Looking on the Cyclone web site, it says today's TCU game is on BIG 12.

    I searched through my direct tv guide and found the game on

    local FOX 28
    ALTHD 681
    YES 631
    ESPN 723

    I am wondering which one does ISU consider to be the "BIG 12" channel...
    I was also curious as to why YES apparently a new york yankees channel is picking up our game.

    The same Big 12 Network they have been on for at least the past 10 years that I can remember.

    The Network where every other commercial is either:
    Phillips 66

    or

    Chick-fil-A

    2012-13 Big 12 Network Television Package - Big 12 Conference - Official Athletic Site

    I'm seeing WOI - ABC as one of the affiliates and it's listed on my Dish Network channel guide for 12:30 !

    .."For the fifth straight season, regionally-syndicated games will be televised on the Big 12 Network as part of the Conference's agreement with ESPN Regional Television. The games are broadcast throughout the Conference's geographic footprint and beyond. Many Big 12 Network games will also be available as part of ESPN Full Court, the pay subscription college basketball outer-market service, and WatchESPN. In addition, condensed highlights will be available 72 hours after completion via Big12Sports.com and the Big 12 Digital Network.

    Yeah, I think Big 12 Network is just a means of distributing basketball games to certain markets so they can be seen on local TV. Kind of like ESPN+ or Raycom.
    Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice?
    Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this.

    Don't forget What-A-Burger! But they are better than the Casey's Mozzerelli and crazy state fair lady commercials from Cyclones.tv on Mediacom.

    Thanks.. that helps to understand why I was finding it on random channels.

    This is my first year back with directv and thought maybe I had missed an announcement of a specific numbered "Big 12" channel....
    I looks like they broadcast to whoever wants to pick it up in the area.....

    I believe Big 12 Network is the former ESPN+.

    Has anyone ever had What-A-Burger? I have always wanted to try it after watching all of their commercials on ESPN+ and Big 12 Network over the years.
