15 O-Reb for TCU, 19 more FT attempts for TCU, 16 TO for ISU.
Glad we got the win. Any road game is a just win situation, and those stats mean nothing if we come out and play well against TT. However, those are not exactly reassuring numbers.

Certainly not any more or less worried than prior to this game.
Re: ***OFFICIAL ISU @ TCU Postgame Thread***
Perfect scenario: We take care of Tech next Wednesday. KSU beats OU today and KU on Tuesday. We beat KSU next Saturday.

That would set up nicely.
KSU-OU is going to be tight one, the way it looks so far. An OU win would not surprise me.

ISU +13 scoring. Only stat that matters. But go ahead and worry

Road conference game.
Enough said.
Re: ***OFFICIAL ISU @ TCU Postgame Thread***
Ugly win, but it is a win. I'll take it.
I just wish when we got up by 15 in the 2nd half that we would be able to take it up to a 20+ pt win versus letting them cut it back to 8 at one point late in the game. That is what concerns me about this team.
We had WV down 18 in the 2nd half and let them tie it with 12 secs left. Had KU all but dead too, but let that one get away from us as well.
This team needs to learn how to finish teams when they have them beat.... AND.... they need to learn to box out and not allow so many offensive rebounds. WV had a ton of offensive rebounds, as did TCU today. I know they were bigger teams than us, but that's no excuse. If you box out correctly, size doesn't matter.

Just get the road win and move on.

One way to finish off teams is to box out and not give them second chance points. Another is to get to the FT line and break the momentum of any comeback the opponent might be mounting. It seems that ISU is not good at either of those, and I fear it will come back to bite them (more than once) in conference play if they can't make some improvements there.
If I had size on my team, I'd be lickin' my chops to play ISU right now. If ISU hadn't been playing two of the worst teams in the conference over the last two games, ISU would probably be 1-3 in conference. The good thing is that ISU was playing a couple of the worst teams in the conference over the last two games.
Re: ***OFFICIAL ISU @ TCU Postgame Thread***
Honestly, in the 2nd half the game was never in doubt to me. Played a bad game but that'll happen.

As far as the TCU game, yep. But we are talking about the TT game, which given it has not happened yet, is dependent on looking at things like stats besides the W-L columns.
And again, we are talking about concerns, not suggesting TT should be favored.

ISU averages 20 free throws a game. The top Big XII team averages 22 free throws a game. Not that much of a difference. I think we can chalk today up as a bad day in that regard but that doesn't mean we're bad at getting to the line.

Sums up most of the concerns from this one. It probably would've taken a complete collapse to lose this one, but ISU came away with too many empty possessions in the second half.
Never really left the door wide open for a comeback (and TCU might've trip trying to walk through it), but also didn't do enough to remove all doubt.
On the other hand, I liked that we ran good offensive sets throughout the game, stayed patient and used good teamwork. The wasted possessions came more from sloppiness and inconsistent 3-point shooting in some stretches, not lack of effort or bad shot selection.
Allowing so many offensive rebounds was irritating, but TCU had a lot of long rebounds off bad misses and airball-rebounds — sometimes even if boxing is good, those things negate it.

Announced crowed of 4700 good work by TCU...
