But in order of likelihood, its most likely that games vs our tier are most likely to have an effect, especially when there is a HUGE divide between our tier and the bottom of the conference. Its pretty unlikely that us, or anyone else in our tier would lose to tech.

I anticipate the games through the end of February will determine where we stand. But who knows?!

Outside of a good game against Kansas who exactly have we beat? That's right 3 of the 4 bottom teams in the conference and we play the forth team next. I hope we do win all those games at home and on the road too. Let's not get carried away. After K-State, we will know more about who we are, but until then we have one close lose to a good team to hang our hat on and a couple of close loses to some bad teams.

I hope Fred gets them to focus on TT and avoid the letdown before the big one against the Fighting Emaws.

Almost unbeatable is a stretch. We are definitely tough and have a great home court advantage, but I can see a couple losses coming at home this year.

Re: The next couple weeks will determine where we stand in the conference.
I don't know why anyone would think we are nearly unbeatable at home - it took a last second shot for us to beat a bad WV team just last week. Certainly any of the Top 6 teams in the Big 12 could potentially beat us at home.

Baylor and Okie St are playing each other now on ESPN. And Cincy almost beat Cuse.

I anticipate the national championship game will determine where we stand.

If we lose we are under a mountain of dog crap.

While I'm trying not to look past the Tech game, I'm incredibly pumped for this coming Saturday. Hilton will be rocking and I can't wait. Take care of business down in Texas first though boys

Re: The next couple weeks will determine where we stand in the conference.
Having seen all of these teams at least once on tv this year, outside of KU, K-State and Oklahoma have looked the best to me. Baylor and OSU are both all right, but I think ISU can handle both of them. K-State and Oklahoma have what ISU has the biggest problem with......competent big men. K-State plays KU tomorrow night. This may sound weird but I think if K-State can beat KU, then ISU has a better chance of beating K-State at home on Saturday. If K-State loses......then I think it will be a lot tougher for ISU to win.
It's going to be an interesting season because the top 6 in conference can each beat each other on any given night, and I don't think WVU will be bad all season, plus Texas could be much better when they get their PG back in February. Beating each other up, this conference may only get 4 teams into the NCAA.

Kansas St, @Okie St, Baylor (Sat), Oklahoma (Mon), @Kansas St
We haven't won at Okie St in forever and having Baylor and Oklahoma in three days will be tough, but atleast they will be at home. Thoughts? The two games that will show the true grit of this team is Purple Kansas (home) and Okie State (away). A win vs Kansas State will get us close if not ranked going into the OSU game. Win those two and I will truely belive this team is better than last years. A split and I would reserve gudgment till later in the year... Afterall last years team beat Purple Kansas at home and lost at OSU.
I am curious what record most would predict out of that streach? I doubt we win all of them but I think it is reaonable that we go 4-1 (prob loss at KSU or at OSU). As stated above the Stillwater hasn't been kind to us, I am just glad Keiton Page is sitting on the bench for them.
