NBA Talent on our current roster?

Of the seniors on the team, McGee is the one I think has the best chance of making it in the NBA because he knows his role. He could bring that instant offense and energy off the bench for a NBA team like he does for us. Won't get drafted but could make a team with stints in the D League.

That last remark was slightly tounge in cheek. However, if you think Babb will would even get a shot you are nuts. Much better players out there that can play similar defense but are way more consistent offensively. Overseas for him if he wants a shot.

Niang has a shot if he muscles up, develops his vertical, and shows ability to guard wings since he probably translates to a combo PF/SF. McGee could sneak in as a 3 point specialist, he has the mechanics down and can guard. Size an issue there too, though. Seems like ISU is full of great talents that are just two inches short of what the NBA is looking for.

Babb fits the size requirement and could be a defensive specialist, but McLemore did burn him pretty well...

Clyburn has the best chance but I wouldn't hold my breath. Niang and Ejim are good college players but too short. Maybe Niang has an outside chance if his body and athleticism really develops. Babb and Luscious just aren't good enough. Mcgee maybe has a slim chance because of his shootings but he is really short for an NBA SG (he'll make some European team really happy though).

NBA plays really tough D. It's such an elite level and there is so few spots. Really tough to make that jump.

I was thinking

Lucious - Possible if turnover problems got fixed and he worked his butt off
Babb - I wish but not enough offense. (Unless they want a lock down defender)
Clyburn - Possible (has the size just needs to hit the weight room hard)
Ejim - Honestly think he has the best chance. (Reminds me of kenneth Faried type player for the NBA)
Niang - I think in a few years he'll be heading to the NBA if he continues to improve
Mcgee - Honestly with the type of game he plays could really flourish in the NBA (Probably over seas)

Apparently this isn't obvious to everyone, but just so we're all on the same page - Teams with 6 future NBA players are generally locks to go to the Final Four. Are we a lock for the Final Four and I don't know about it?

The defense in the NBA is very high level, but the offensive game of superstars is so incredibly great that they can score on perfect defense routinely. Especially with all the space in the NBA game.

Babb is not good enough to get drafted in the NBA for anything really. Although there are some "D and 3" type players that make a living out of it. Babb would have to get much better at both to have a shot.

I want to clarify my earlier post and also say that I think all of the guys the OP mentioned play pro ball, just none in the NBA. Europe or China will be very kind to them, and they will make a lot of money from it IMO.

EDIT: Also, that Kenneth Faried comparison is outrageous.

Clyburn is way too akward, soft and doesnt have the handles to play in the NBA. Great college player though.

McGee has the athletcism and shooting ability. Not sure on his ball handling and size.

Between Ejim and Niang, I wouldn't be surprised if someone from this team could find a roster for a year or two, but it's probably unlikely. I guess you can't rule Niang out yet, but he's got a LONG way to go, and his game/body doesn't easily translate.

If Babb was the lockdown defender that some here think he is, he'd have a shot. But he's not as good as he's given credit for here. To illustrate that point, here's the stats of KU's best perimeter player against ISU with Babb:

3 games: 25.7 points per game, 70.5% eFG%, 5.7 assists per game.

McGee could be a niche player off the bench for someone but he will need to get lucky to find that since he won't get drafted. I could see him doing well in the Vegas summer league and getting a shot. Babb just doesn't hit the three well enough. He needed to shoot over 40 percent from three this year to give himself a chance to be a Matt Barnes type player but he isn't doing that yet.

Clyburn has the athletic tools and natural position but needs to have a few signature games down the stretch to put himself on the map. This draft is pretty weak so there's still hope.

Never said all 6 were future nba players. Just broke down each position n player with any chance. Agreed most are d leaguers or over seas but I still think ejim has a legit shot. Just a reminder one of the best rebounders in the nba is 6'6 (kenneth faried) rebounding is not just about height
