SMH at all the Pollyannas
There are some nights where it's OK just to say that things stink.
Losing to Texas Tech is one of those nights.
Since the 18-point lead vs. WVa, ISU has just been asking to lose one like this.
If this is a temporary down-slope/lull, things will be OK.
The team is obviously capable of better (KU was still a loss, but that night's team could've won these last 3 by 20; 20-pointer over UT was slick). I wonder if they got the feeling they could just waltz in and mop up against the bottom-feeders.
Does this seem like a tournament team? Meh, not today. But this is a classic 10-seed resume we have going here. I'll expand on that later.
Why not press a young team that is trying to slow the game down?
With the effort and smarts that our guys forgot tonight, it would have looked pretty lazy and sluggish.
That's my guess. I like the idea, but not the team on the floor tonight. I just struggle to believe that our guys would have done anything well.
I'm a little concerned how people can think we're "ok" after this loss...Texas Techs RPI was in the 220s...220s...that's TERRIBLE for a Division 1 basketball team, like idk how to describe it bad. Drake was around 120-130 last year...that might be able to put it into perspective.
This game and TCU were the only "We CANNOT lose" games of the year, and we lost one. That Kansas game just became 1000x more important.
That would require effort.
ALL of the games remaining became 1000X more important. With the Big XII sucking donkey balls this year we can't get any decent wins with the exception of a couple, but we sure can sink our ship by losing like we did tonight. Gotta win most of the remaining and win 2-3 in the Big XII tourney to even have a chance now.
So ****** off and let down.
