Yep.
We have to win out at home I think. And no more bad losses.
Re: Kansas St. close to a must-win now?
Must Win. Every game is a must win. We need big wins and not terrible losses.

Re: Kansas St. close to a must-win now?
Considering we have zero good wins this year I would consider any game that we play against a good/ranked team the rest of the year a must win. The NCAA tournament doesn't care that we missed free throws down the stretch and got unlucky by a banked in 3 pointer at Kansas. We lost. BYU is our best win. They have lost to every good/decent team that they have played including Florida St, Notre Dame, Baylor, and Saint Marys. Their best and only decent win is against an average/below-average 11-6 Virginia Tech. So yeah that really isn't even a good win for us against BYU. We have lost against every good/decent team we have played including Cincinnati, UNLV, Iowa, and Kansas. O yeah and the terrible/horrible/embarassing loss tonight.

Booker and Gibson are BAD this year.
Booker is a fouling machine and is always 2 steps behind.
Gibson misses layups and free throws.

Booker wasnt great last year either. He hit a few threes that helped the team and that was about it.
I am so disapointed in Gibson. Thought he could become a great player, but he doesnt seem to want to take that next step.

I'm not ready to take his scholarship away or anything, but those missed free throws of his were BIG...

There isn't enough bleach to wash this stain out. This mark is so bad that future teams are going to be set back from it. This loss is equivalent to Chernobyl. The land is now poisoned.
Re: Kansas St. close to a must-win now?
Must win for what? Maybe for the NIT.
We simply have too many holes to play into the tourney IMO. I hope I eat my words but we are terrible in the paint on both ends.
We are pretty much a one trick pony (3-ball) but that will fail you in some games, especially on the road.
This team looks to be destined for 6th place and I'm afraid that doesn't get us in the tourney unless we win multiple games in the B12 tournament

I'm actually afraid that it affected the food in my refrigerator, but I don't know where the safe food would be.
Maybe Nebraska, but I hope I'm never that hungry again.

The free throw shooting was horrendous.
We lost the game by missing free throws. We are not getting any better.

The KSU game won't totally get rid of it, but will help a little.
Curious how CFers rate this game on importance.
Short-term, definitely.
I don't know how likely it would be to win the next 4, but doing that would temporarily obliterate almost all negatives that've come before (missing the opp vs. KU; weak SOS; no big wins; losing at Texas Freaking Tech).
I still think ISU will sweep Baylor, if that means anything. I don't know why I think that following 2.25 poor outings, but I do.

The glass-half-full approach (which goes against my typical nature): Gibson is suffering Big Man Sophomoritis.

Yeah, again I agree with CycloneErik here. I never freak out about these losses early in the year. But this is a bad bad bad loss. This isn't like losing to a number 100 rpi, bad team like Texas on the road. This is like losing to a D2 team later in the year. Tech really isn't even a D1 team if you look at it. It is going to take some heavy lifting and you can't afford any hiccups now. Need to win out at home plus beat Texas, WVU and OU on the road. And even then you might need a B12 tourney win. I think they can do it, but wow this is a bad loss. One of the worst bball losses I can remember actually.
