I thought Langford's foot was clearly on the line.

I didn't realize the refs miscalled the FTs as a one-and-one for the longest time. The call doesn't seem as bad to me now knowing it was a matter of the refs calling a one-and-one instead of not blowing the whistle when Kansas took the ball in the middle of the FTs.

This may have been the worst call ever, but the "phantom charge" and other 4th quarter calls during the Iowa State Michigan State elite 8 game were the most costly. By far.

I always wondered if what the refs did there was legitimate, or if the NCAA actually has a rule for something like this. It doesn't seem right that you can rewind time after the three, count it, give Vroman the ball, hits it, and then it's Iowa state ball again. Does any NCAAA rule nerd have the verdict on what should have occurred?

I think it was discussed in another thread, but I believe based on the rules, it was legit after the KU shot went in. They still should have caught it right away as a two shot foul.

The Vroman, Sullivan, and Homan year were some of my favorite - but I don't have any memories of that game. It's my guess that after that I probably got very very drunk.

I thought I heard or read that one official held up two fingers but the other said one and one. No way to prove that from this video, though.

Gotta love Wayne Morgan - "I can't believe this ****!" Good thing Larry or Floyd wouldn't have been here. One of those refs would have gone to the hospital.

That was the biggest mistake. The bench, esp. a designated Grad Assistant, has got to be paying attention and not let mistakes be made by the refs.

Watch it again. You can hear someone on the ISU bench yelling "TWO SHOTS!" before KU gets across half-court.

Watched it a few more times and I don't hear it. Not saying it isn't there, but I haven't yet heard it.

At any rate, there isn't a coach running on the court making sure that the refs stop the play and get it right. Nobody pulled a Naz Long.

just watched the video on youtube. cant believe i dont remember this... after watching, i clicked a video on the side that had highlights of us beating okie state last year in football and a guy left this as a comment: "iowa state=most cheated underrated team in the ncaa an im a osu fan."
