Why so little love for Jeff ??????
On this site i hardly ever see any love for maybe for the most successful Cyclone hoopsters ever Jeff Hornacek. The guy had some huge moments and Cyclone and in the NBA.
Just as a reminder you should all take a look at this........ Jeff Hornacek - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Re: Why so little love for Jeff ??????
Maybe because he played before most posters were born.

Re: Why so little love for Jeff ??????
Or because his teams never won a championship team in the NBA. You remember the winners, not so much the losers.

Re: Why so little love for Jeff ??????
I vaguely remember Hornacek's NBA days.

Re: Why so little love for Jeff ??????
It's not that we don't love him...most conversations around here don't really warrant his name being brought up. How often do the names of Jeff Grayer, Barry Stevens, Julius Michalik or Justus Thigpen come up?

I was a Jazz fan because of Hornacek, Stockton, and Malone.
Too bad for them that they peaked when MJ was peaking as well.

Re: Why so little love for Jeff ??????
Horny is an underrated Cyclone no doubt, he had the best pro career of any Cyclone in my lifetime. Most posters on here never saw Fred play either(@ ISU), doesn't seem to hurt his rep.

Re: Why so little love for Jeff ??????
You think with all the shooter talks we have on here we could at least bring him up once and awhile. The guy was a serious force in the NBA in the 90's.

Re: Why so little love for Jeff ??????
Plus outside the reunion ISU had a few years back Jeff hasn't really come back to ISU very much. It was tough to root against him when the Jazz played the Bulls. Solid nba career and here's hoping he gets a nba head coaching gig.

Re: Why so little love for Jeff ??????
Horny is definitely one of the greatest Cyclones of all time. I think a lot of people, myself included, thought he was a complimentary player to Stevens and Grayer. It became apparent how underrated he was when the year after he left we went 13-15 when we were expecting one of our greatest teams ever.

Re: Why so little love for Jeff ??????
The lack of an NCAA three point line during Jeff's college days probably hurts his image. If there was a three point line he would have had a lot more points and probably more greatly affected the outcome of more games in a very visable way.

Re: Why so little love for Jeff ??????
Sorry but my son was named after Jeff Hornacek. His middle name is Jordan, that is how much I respect Jeff Hornacek!

Re: Why so little love for Jeff ??????
Because Hornacek was much more of a facilitator at ISU than a scorer. The scorers get all the love. And because a lot of the people on this board may not have been alive when he played.
Six career 12-assist games (out of 16 total in school history).
#2 and #3 single-season assist totals.
#1 in career assists.
#1 and #2 in single-season APG.
#2 in career APG.
#3 single-season A/TO (behind two Holloway seasons).
#2 career A/TO.

Bunch of babies on here...that is why. Only a handful of us actually saw Hornacek in an ISU uniform with our own eyes.
