Do you remember Antoine Oliver? Redshirted his Freshman year, and then transfered to some Community College in Tennesee I believe, and then wound up with Campbell. I just think SDW wasn't exactly 100% bought into the redshirt decision this season. Sure the coaching staff heavily influenced his decision... Did you see when SDW tweeted "Decided to redshirt!!!!!!". That seems like he bought into it. And Sherron and Oliver shouldn't be put into the same category at all.

So much dumb in this thread.

I suppose the next thing to do is speculate on their grades.
I don't have any basketball guys in my classes, either as a teacher or a student. Therefore, I assume that none of them go to class, and all are academically disqualified. We're in trouble.

Easy mistake to make.

Just worthless speculation on your part.
I also find it hilarious that you apparently edited your post for spelling errors, yet you still have at least two incorrectly spelled words still in it, not to mention grammatical errors.

I think Oliver and SDW are two completely different situations. Oliver was a guy picked up in the spring when other players left. Sometimes those spring guys are a bit of a reach. SDW was fall signed guy who it appears wanted and welcomed the redshirt.
And lets maybe not worry about who is going to transfer until this new kid is offered a scholarship and he accepts it. We are a ways away from that.

Didn't see a single MBB player on campus when I was there last week. NOT A GOOD SIGN!!!

Were big reaches? It is not like they were NFL draft picks, they will not be here long enough to be big reaches.
Unless you think they were brought in to be 4-year all-conference guys, they are no reach at all. We return our top three posts. Would we take an all-conference post? Of course, but we also could use rebounding, defense, and some size. Kyle Washington would not help the team more next year than these guys.
As for Fred scouting and having someone come in on an unofficial, it would be irresponsible for Fred not to have back-up plans.

We are a much smarter fanbase than some of these transfer posts suggest.

Plus, we've seen Fred play as many as five guys at a time capable of shooting the 3-ball. If this kid signs, it just gives him another shooter to put out there. if not, I'd definately be okay if those shots come from guys we already have committed or redshirting.

ThompsonClone and jsp covered a few.
First off, SDW was a top 150 recruit and is looking at some heavy playing time. Oliver was a last second spot filler. He most likely wasn't going to play the next season at all. I also recall Oliver having some health issues or family health issues (?). Finally, wasn't Oliver a McD recruit that was redshirted McD last season/Fred's first season?
