Not saying they won't - just found it odd. Things like that can stick out to a recruit (think Georges Niang). UNC offered RV a couple weeks ago.

Re: Rashad Vaughn
I just read a UNC article that said that RV and one kid (forget his name) were UNC's top shooting guard targets.

One question remains if Doug and HB and Bubu together might have committed to the Clones, but McD steered Doug to UNI instead....and the rest is history....

I think you mean Theo PINSON. He goes to school in North Carolina, so he may commit early after all.

Fred wants and needs this kid badly. I think we have a good shot at him.

Only for some reason I think Fred is in pretty good shape with this kid. He has a great eye for talent. ISU really needs a good power forward as well as Rashad.

Re: Rashad Vaughn
I honestly don't know why anyone considers ever playing for Williams. Rarely ever does he develop players into superstars and he vastly underachieves. I understand they would play for the name North Carolina, but I would much rather play for a coach that understands how to use his players.

If Baylor can land recruits like this why can't Iowa St? Scott Drew does the opposite of developing players, they seem to get worse every year and also you only have 3,000 people cheering you on when your at home

Even if they are cheating I don't get it.

Re: Rashad Vaughn
Every year I look through the top recruits and where they land, and there's always a few that land in spots that aren't what you would normally expect. I see no reason why that can't be the case here.

Re: Rashad Vaughn
Williams can cruise into any of these kids households and easily recruit them he doesn't have to really work at it. He has had the luxury of coaching at the name schools which is why some may say he underachieves or players do not develop like they should. I hope that changes with Vaughn to come to ISU and not UNC, he can develop just as much here as he can or may not at UNC. Also, we are on TV a lot too so its not like the nation will not see his talents if he so chooses ISU.

Re: Rashad Vaughn
It doesn't matter if you think Williams doesn't make players better, underachieves, etc. He is a big name coach at one of the top five basketball schools of all time. If Williams really wants a kid he is going to get him 95 times out of 100. ISU will never really compete for that kind of player other than the once in a decade blip on the radar screen. Not a put down of ISU at all....just the way it is and always will be. That puts ISU in the same boat with 90% of the of the D1 programs.
