Saving our good fortune for the Big 12 tournament and March Madness?

I don't think we did anything wrong, just didn't have the home-court advantage, and also didn't have some shots fall while they had a lucky one fall in the last seconds. It tears your heart out, but what can you say. We also had a stretch where they were getting easy inside shots that our interior defense seemed to break down. I know that we can throw blame, but what good would that do? Cyclones played a great ballgame.

How about this. Almost every team in the country shoots better from the FT line then they do from the field closely guarded. You are giving the advantage to the other team who simply has to make one of two for the lead. Then you have to make a basket. Your odds of losing just went way up. You are assuming that they were going to score. That was very much in doubt. After all, they had a 5 second violation on that possession that just wasn't called but should have been because it was 7 seconds or more.
I'm really trying to be nice here, but there is a reason you never see someone intentionally foul in that situation in a tie game. This is nothing like the debate of to foul or not when up by 3.

How is it handing them the win, when you give yourself the ball with a chance to tie the game (or win if they don't make both FT) with more than 2.5 left on the clock?

He really needs to step up because we need some defensive backup.

Same. It was blatantly obvious when Smart his that stupid shot at half and the nail in the coffin was that boneheaded play by Ejim.

Did you just imply Percy Gibson and defense in the same sentence?

We were in foul trouble and no backups on the bench that we trust for defense.

Why not play D, rebound their missed FG attempt, & then take the ball down in a tie game w/ a chance to win?

This is just the way life is for ISU. The chances of OSU making a tough, closely contested shot to take the lead were 100%. The chances of them making both free throws had we fouled were 100%. Had they needed another 60 footer or banked in 3 pointer at some point, I would put the chances of them making it at 100%.
We just don't win these games on the road.

You clearly know everything about basketball (if it were 1975 still) so not worth talking to you anymore..
