A student fee wont happen because its politically unpopular, but in reality i think it would benefit more students than most of the other fees that they pay.

It's politically unpopular because the university (or, at least the Regents) is already trying to wring every penny possible penny out of the students that they can get away with. Otherwise they probably would be more cooperative.

I think it extremely unlikely that ISU would ever be a BCS-level team, but there's no reason we couldn't be in the discussion for conference championships, 9-win seasons, etc. Fan support and success go hand in hand. Sure, it's a tough sell, but I believe we're doing the right things to be competitive. If Baylor can have a Heismann QB, then don't tell me ISU's ceiling is 7 wins.
We are only a Russell Wilson away from nine wins.

Someone proposes a 5% decrease in university payroll to pay for the SEZ and Erik and I are the only one's that respond. I sarcastically counter with a 5% hike in student fees and people start boiling tar.
I'm sure it was just people newly coming back and only getting part of the conversation (like I did early), but I think it does speak to the demographic on this board.

The majority who got it didn't see the need to respond. We understood that something like that is best if you let it simmer for a while to let the juices and flavors combine.

Not that I don't agree with you, because I actually do. But even under the new playoff isn't there still BCS bowls? If we win the conference wouldn't a Big 12 conference champion be a BCS level team? Am I missing something?
