The media overhyped the big 10 as usual. Ku stomping most all is really helping our conf.
Way too early to say we're in or out. Too many folks like to deal in absolutes after any win or loss. Once we see a true separation of top 6 and bottom 6 in this conf will we know better who has best shot at getting in.
And yes im looking at the morons who declared us out after we lost to tech in the third game of the conf season.
How is the Big 10 overhyped? Their top 6 teams are probably better than everyone in the Big XII except Kansas. For once, the Big 10 has actually lived up to the hype.Quote:

I think we are safe IF the Big XII gets 6 teams. Depending on what happens in smaller conferences, like MVC, might dictate how many the Big XII get. If Creighton wins the conference regular season and another team wins the valley tourney, then what? If that happens in a number of small conferences, the big conferences will need to cut their at large down. If Big XII goes to 5 teams only, then we aren't so safe anymore.
It doesn't matter if the top 6 teams in the Big 10 are the top 6 teams in the country. It doesn't meant that the 7th team will get in. This is';t directed to anybody but there are people that think the Big 10 deserves 7 or 8 teams just because it's a tough conference. It won't matter if the 7th and 8th place teams aren't worthy. ...and despite the road woes madness, somehow I still remain extremely confident in our tourney chances. I know it's cliché, but the Big12 Tourney and the Big Dance are all about who can catch fire at the right time. We have a hell of a lot more firepower than most...if we can only now find a match.
Counting on the Big 12 tournament is dicey. When is the last time we even won a game?

I continue to say, if we want to speculate that it would take "X" Big 12 wins to be in good shape for a bid, get it in the regular season, don't say X-1 plus a win in the tournament, because a singular win there is not "extra credit" (as some fans seem to view it), it's just like any other matchup, quality depends on who you're playing. It's dangerous if you have to depend on any kind of run in league tournament and hope that it truly has impact if you're a bubble team.
