Great win, on some really good shooting! Still concerned with the interior defense and rebounding though. OU missed a lot of shots, so that was a part of it, but giving up 19 offensive rebounds to the 6th best rebounding team in the conference is not a good thing. ISU has to get better, or that could be a problem at tourney time.
Now, ISU has to prove it can win on the road.
A good chunk of those 19 were at the end against Ellerman and Co. though. Like 5 on one possession.
you take away a garbage banked 3 pointer with the defender nearly poking out his eye sockets and a total no show against tech and we would be a top 10 team right now. i think the best thing about our team right now is that everyone seems to know and be comfortable in his role.
Ejim - rebounds and hussle plays
Claiborne - taking it to the hoop and drawing contact
Lucious - distributing and ball security
Babb - defensive lockdown guy
McGee - best 6th man in NCAA
Niang - mismatch problem guy
they seem to have figured out what makes them successul..now to show it on the road!
This team definitely has a good chance at getting 2nd in the conference. I'm interested yet kinda nervous about playing on the road because everyone knows how good we play at home but we seem to be kind of inconsistent on the road. We should win at a minimum four of our next five games and I really think we can win all of them. Next five games: 1. @ K-State, @Texas, Home-TCU, @Baylor, Home-Tech
