    K.J. Bluford

Randy Peterson posted a short interview of KJ Bluford after the game last night. In his blog post, it says ISU has offered Bluford.
I knew CFH was looking at this kid but I hadn't heard he had been offered.

Interesting. Something tells me that there is some smoke to the Maurice Jones thing. Either way, that scholarship will have to come from somewhere.

It's obvious Hoiberg is trying to recreate the magic that he found with McGee with this offer.

randy peterson has covered college basketball for 40 years yet he asks questions like he just landed from mars.

    "what's your major?"
    "what's your dad do?"
"where did you go to high school?"

I agree that was brutal. It sounded like it was his first interview as an intern.

What's brutal is the decision to give a 40-year newspaper man a video camera and expect him to do a television interview.

Randy, you get a D- for that interview. Very awkward and jerky.

    Re: K.J. Bluford

This kid is a very good shooter, has deep range, can create on his own, and is athletic. But he is also pretty thin and takes bad shots at times. He could play McGee role for sure.

i hate the tyrus comparison. bluford is shooting mid 30s from three in juco, tyrus is shooting low 40s at a BCS school. just because you shoot threes in juco doesn't mean you're as good as tyrus. he'd probably have much better offers right now if he could shoot it like tyrus.

i'm sure bluford shoots it better than hogue, however.

KJ's interview was hard to watch. An additional example would be from last Saturday. I watched the video of reporters interviewing Rashad Vaughn before the game and it was awkward too. They ask questions they already know the answer to. I know this is a bit of a reach, but do you think the local media outlets that cover universities could turn a recruit off to playing somewhere? It obviously cannot be the deciding factor, but could it make a difference?

I couldn't find Tyrus's C.C. shooting stats, but Bluford is shooting 38.5% from 3pt this year, as opposed to 33.6% last year. He's still a sophomore, and he's obviously improving. Yes, the talent level he plays against would be a big difference, but they're just saying he plays the same style as McGee.

Tyrus didn't have huge offers either, and look where he's at.

I'll leave it to Hoiberg to identify shooters.
