Chris Babb's offense this season
I have to admitt. I was very critical of Babb's offensive game earlier in the season, but man has he turned things around. All around--Defensively and Offensively he is having his best season of his college career!!
He has definately rose to the occasion during conference play, and we will need him to continue that in future games to make a deep run in the tourney! His three ball is definately ON during conference play...

Re: Chris Babb's offense this season
He seems to step up when we need him to on offense. He definitely has a certain spot on his three ball where he just loves to shoot and you can see it when he's just warming up too.
I'm hoping the three plus the defense might give him a shot at the NBA.

Re: Chris Babb's offense this season
Biggest improvement to Chris's game is his ability to take the ball to the rack. I really enjoy when he makes a good hard move to the basket and gets a nice clean look. He made a couple big plays like that in the W over Baylor when the 3's were not falling.
The guy looks to be having fun out there which is greta to see.

Re: Chris Babb's offense this season
He's not the best coming off of screens and hitting but if you let him step into a 3.. Lookout. He's deadly when he can step into it.

Re: Chris Babb's offense this season
Yeah, I've been very pleased with the way he's been playing. There's more to his game than just defense and the 3 point shot, this year. He's show some ability to take it to the hoop, as well.
Plus, he's just so damn smart out there. Rarely gets into foul trouble. Makes good passes. He's exactly what they're talking about when you hear the term "senior leadership."

“They're very, very hard to guard,” Notre Dame head coach Mike Brey said. “They're really good. And with Niang in the middle kind of wheeling and all those guys spreading you out, they're kind of a nightmare matchup. And they're men. They're really men.” -

He's not great on the dribble-drive, but when you do it once or twice a game, I think you catch the defense off-guard. Of course he's a big enough, strong enough guy he can take contact. Does pretty well rebounding too. He will be sorely missed next year.

Re: Chris Babb's offense this season
I wasn't sure what Babb was going to do this year. I knew his D would continue, but O was a different story. You knew he could do it, it was just a matter of if he would do it. So far he is, and it's great!

That's a good point, I noticed he really seemed to pick up the rebounding in these games with Ejim and Niang in foul trouble.

Re: Chris Babb's offense this season
Last year in conference play he shot 31% from 3 point range. This year, so far, 38%.
Plus he is taking it to the lane a lot better. He's already shot as many free throws in 9 games as he did in all 18 last season

Re: Chris Babb's offense this season
I've also been impressed with his ability to take it to the rack. The key to his success there is how strong he truly is, which he is very underrated for. While he may not be super big, he is built VERY solid. I personally think he has even more ability to take it to the rack than he does now to some extent. While I also agree that part of his success is that he takes the defense off-guard, because they don't expect it, but I still think he could do it some more and still see the same success.

Re: Chris Babb's offense this season
I do like that he is getting to the line more. Also love the pressure that Will brings when he attacks the basket. Nothing better than being in the double bonus with 6+ min to play in the half.
