It's just a very average conference this year. The B12 is ranked as the #5 power conference and that is about right. We are a very average team, in a very average conference.
Can't win big games on the road....well, I'm sorry... We beat OSU...the refs did us in clearly in that one. But, yeah....can't win against good competition on the road it seems. This Texas game is really huge now.
I think it's the year for a team to go take the title. I also think the tourney could be exciting as the 2-7 seeding will pretty much be about the same talent.
Count me among the few that wanted Kansas to beat OU. I was hoping that yesterday would create a clear "top 4" in the conference consisting of us, KU, K-State, and OSU...instead, OU put themselves in a good position to leapfrog us. If it comes down to selection Sunday and we're being considered for a 4th or 5th pick out of the Big 12, I'd prefer to have as much separation between us and OU/Baylor as possible. OU beating KU and us losing did exactly the opposite.

Yes, that was yesterday, when we were hoping for a regular season championship. This though, is today, when we are just hoping to make it to the Big Dance. The wild mental swings that come with Iowa State athletics!
