Re: Royce White debut
Interesting comments by the commish on the whole situation. Ultimate Rockets » NBA commissioner weighs in on Royce White situation Stern said he was pleased the Rockets and White, the first-round draft pick who has generalized anxiety disorder, resolved issues that cleared the way for White to join the Rockets’ Development League team in the Rio Grande Valley. But Stern said he would have preferred a quieter discussion and resolution. “This is not the first situation where mental health issues have surfaced and our teams and our professional help and the league have dealt with it,” he said. “We tend to deal with it in a quieter fashion than this one played out, as you might imagine, just because medical issues of any kind are usually kept in a more private way, not to hide anything but to protect the patient’s rights.” He said publicity over White’s case, including a story on HBO’s “Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel,” “might have slowed the resolution. But it was on a good track. We were quite involved in it with the team.” I don't do signatures. Blondes, brunettes, and red heads are a different story. -

Not a great night ClutchFans.net @clutchfans In 20+ min tonight, Royce White scored 3 pts on 1-8 FG, 1-6 FTs, 3 assists, 5 turnovers. Vipers lost by 28 at home. He'll be there awhile. -

And, imo, his game will only excel when playing with and against better talent. He does need to get in shape though.
"He is the toughest I have ever been around, physically and mentally," Burnham said. "You can beat him down but you’re not going to beat him out. He’s got the mindset of, ‘If you’re going to get me out of this game, you’re going to have to kill me.’ That’s about where he is."
