Corie Blount sentenced to year in prison on marijuana charges - ESPN

Blount was arrested Dec. 4 after sheriff's deputies intercepted 11 pounds of marijuana sent to him at a relative's house. Investigators said they found another 18 pounds in a subsequent search of his home.

Having this guy at #5 really makes a statement.

Deadspin is back at it with a follow-up story: Jay Williams's Allegations Of Pot-Smoking On The 2002-03 Bulls Have Really Upset Donyell Marshall

It includes the following amusing few paragraphs:

The rest of the 2002-03 Bulls are not happy about Williams's allegations, reports K.C. Johnson in the Chicago Tribune:

"I like Jay, but when you make blanket statements, you incriminate everyone," said Rick Brunson, currently a Bobcats assistant coach. "You have to look in the mirror first: 'Did I contribute to some of those things?' Your career didn't go the way it should've gone. Let it go. You're doing a great job on ESPN. You should be honored and blessed the Bulls paid you."

"My thing is, why say these things now?" said Donyell Marshall, one of the team leaders from 2002-03. "You don't need to be making people assume. You're messing up situations for other people. Now, instead of Fred (Hoiberg, coach of Iowa State) focusing on the NCAA tournament or whatever, he's got to deal with that (crap)."

Johnson reports that Marshall, Brunson, and four other unnamed members of that Bulls squad denied smoking before games. He doesn't, though, mention any communication with Fred Hoiberg. So, just to make sure Fred deals with that ****, we've put in a call and an email to Iowa State about these very serious allegations. We'll update when we hear back.

I wonder if they'll get an official reply?!!?!?
