Road records of the Top 6 teams in the Big 12 vs the Top 6 teams in the Big 12
This is just KU, KSU, OU, OSU, Baylor, and Iowa State facing each other. In parentheses is who they beat or lost to.
ISU - 0-3 (Loss @KU, @OSU, @KSU)
Baylor - 0-3 (Loss @ISU, @KU, @OSU)
Okalahoma - 1-3 (Won @Baylor, Loss @ISU, @KU, @KSU)
OSU - 1-3 (Won @KU, Loss @KSU, @Baylor, @OU)
KSU - 1-2 (Won @OU, Loss @ISU, @KU)
KU - 1-1 (Won @KSU, Loss @OU)
A combined record of 4-15 when playing on the road against the other top competition in the conference. My point being is that winning on the road is incredibly hard in this league. Posters are freaking out that we have no road wins against the top teams, but no one in the conference even has 2 wins against that same competition.
We still have to play Baylor(RPI 53), Oklahoma(RPI 21), and West Virginia(RPI 89). Those would all be quality roads wins provided RPI's stay relatively the same.

1. I agree that it's extremely hard to win on the road.
2. When you're non-conference schedule doesn't help you with a lot of quality, you're sort of forced to step up and win a couple of road games against decent teams.
3. There's no need to panic yet, because we still have 4 road games to play and I could see us winning 2 of them as easily as I can envision going 0-4.
4. It's really too bad that we lost to Tech. That wouldn't have been a quality win, but it would have taken a bad road loss away.

Two road wins at TCU (#220) and UMKC (#321) does not move the peter meter needle. We need to win against a better team on the road. On the bright side, TT may be top 200 in the end.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

I think (read:hope) that everyone here realizes that winning on the road in the big 12 is never easy. I think the big complaint with these losses is that ISU was right there in these games and couldn't finish. Except for TTU, that is totally inexcusable.

I am fine with our road losses, except for TT.

Had we not lost to Tech, I don't think people would be complaining about the lack of road wins.

That hurts more in my mind.

If we can't beat Baylor or OU, we'll likely hurt our seeding as we will have no quality road or neutral site wins. Wins against UMKC and TCU won't cut it.

I dont care if we win games at home or the road.. i jsut wanna finish every year .500 or above in the Big 12. I really hope we can again this year. I do think it will be pretty close.

******* away a road win at TT is the only disappointing loss of this season.

I'm not trying to be difficult, it comes naturally.... -
The OP Point is good but misses the Mark
I agree that it is tough to win road games against the better Big 12 teams.
However to guarantee an NCAA Tourny berth ISU probably needs to go 11-7 in Big 12 games. We may be able to get in at 10-8, but then we probably need to win a Big 12 Tourny game.
So where will 2-3 road wins come? I'd love to be 100% confident we'll go 9-0 at Hilton. Our next two road games against UT & WVU are probably our best chances. IMO tonightsngame is a must win.
