As someone else pointed out, you have to play as hard or harder on defense than you do on offense. We don't do that. And you MUST take care of the ball, especially in late game situations. You just can't have stupid possessions down the stretch and we had a TON of them again tonight.
So yes, as bad as they must feel, and I feel for them too, they are the only ones who can turn it around. They have all the power to do what's needed. One of the few times I'll agree with a post of yours.

Re: You have to feel for these guys..
What are the stats on points allowed per game? We have to be giving up the most by a decent margin.

Another point is, some of you need to calm down. You don't think these guys wanted to win very badly? Yes its going to be more difficult to make the big dance now, but it isn't impossible. Just got back from the game...you're right, as soon as that papipetro (sp?) dude hit the three our players faces went flush. I knew we were screwed then. The air was sucked right out of them. I feel back for them. On a positive note, Ejim was a friggin machine tonight; holy moly. He was fun to watch

Re: You have to feel for these guys..
I don't feel for them at all because they are an average team plain simple. The only thing we are good at on the road is finding ways to lose.

I feel for Ejim and McGee tonight. They played their arses off again. Ejim was literally a BEAST out there. An unbelievable game out of him. I'm so glad he's back again next year. He dominated that game tonight.
As for the other guys, I don't think their intensity level was high enough for us to win. Especially defensively.

Re: You have to feel for these guys..
You just got on my ignore list. What crap.
Thanks JWP5 for starting this thread. It needed to be said. The ranting and railing on here is so pathetic. You would almost think these are former national champions themselves telling our guys what they should be doing different. I agree with your post wholeheartedly, and not because I am a 'clone fan. It's because I've been there, and I am sure most of you have been too. You win as a team and lose as a team. And when things don't go right for you, nothing in the world feels worse.

Re: You have to feel for these guys..
Some of you folks sure are cruel. Just because they're "average" or made a mistake at a terrible time doesn't mean they don't deserve a little compassion.
It hurts me too (I'm mad as hell right now), but I still root for them, and I hurt for them when they hurt.

Re: You have to feel for these guys..
I don't think I'm cruel for saying we are an average team its the truth! We can win at hone but not on the road. Its a simple fact people! If we were a great team we would have won at least half or two thirds of road games so far.

We have 4-5 seniors on this team and we cannot win games down the stretch. So no, I don't feel bad. I hope Hoiberg runs them into the ground the next 3 days and teaches them to close out games. He needs to get mad instead of being all calm and "its okay that you threw up a idiotic shot with 18 seconds left on the shot clock", "no Percy, keep shooting into triple teams and getting blocked, its okay" Before you go off blasting somebody for THEIR mental mistakes try making sure you don't have your own mental mistakes in something as easy as grammar. THEY'RE out THERE on the court playing hard and getting beat by last second 3's several times this season.

You people act like winning on the road is easy.

Re: You have to feel for these guys..
Defense sucked as usual..... Gibson was sucking it up... and Clyburn needs to learn, he is not a one man show. Ejim.... the man played his *** off. I have been happy to see Bubu doing well after his suspension. Niang needs to get the fowling under control.... or get better at getting away with it. It's good to see Lucius not dribbling the ball away every time he comes down the floor.... we need a stronger game plan for those nights when we aren't hitting the threes.

Re: You have to feel for these guys..
the biggest problem, behind defense of course, is when the game is on the line, we play too much iso on offense. It looks like we have 5 individuals out there instead of 1 team. Until they figure out how to play as a team the whole game and especially at the end, ISU will not be very good on the road.
