I'd say inexperienced and to an extent, yes, unluck. Both teams have seen their fair share of last second banked in threes to end the game or send it to ot. Sometimes there are defensive laps, but that really wasn't the case at ku or okie state.

This team just doesnt have a closer to put the game away. Some nights I think it could be Niang, but other nights, he disappears.
We need one guy that can take it to the rack (without shooting a fade away lay-up or fall away 6ft jumper) with under 3 minutes to go and either get a lay-up or get fouled. This is where RW was most valuable to last years team.
Good thing I am not a mod, I would be banning ******* left and right in here

If you ask the basketball analysts outside the state of Iowa I think you would be surprised to hear their responses. Iowa was pegged as a preseason top 5 team by one ESPN analyst and is ranked in the vast, vast majority of preseason top 25 polls
Also, side note: I have been super supportive of this group for the past 2 years. I couldn't wait for Clyburn/Korie, etc. to LEAD this team to bigger and better things. I have the up most respect for everyone on this team, but tonight was the straw that broke the camels back. I have no problem with the coaching on this team, I completely agree with the decisions. There is a reason why Booker isn't playing and I trust the coaching staff with that decision.
I personally feel like we are missing leadership on this team compared to last year (Scottie and Royce). I had high expectations from this group of seniors and unfortunately they haven't lived up to them, maybe it's my fault as a supportive fan to expect too much from 21-22 year old seniors, but I also believe Seniors are the difference when it comes to winning on the road in tough environments, and these guys are not getting it done period.
I love this program with all of my heart so for people to say I'm not on board is ridiculous, after tonight I still will expect this team to win EVERY game left on the schedule. Once again, I cant wait for these young guys to get here purely for the fact of what they bring to the table.
As I have said in multiple posts before, I will always be... ALL IN!
But what has anyone done OFF THE COURT like you so pompously stated in your first post. That's what he, and now I, are asking you.
