Getting to the Tourney is about the KU and OSU games
Even if ISU won last night, it would still be about those 2 games. Texas win would have been nice, but win at Texas and lose to KU or OSU at home we still would be out.
At this point that will determine our fate. If we happen to pick up another road win great, but will not matter unless ISU beats those 2 teams.
I assume we will not win the last 3 on the road, and even if we did still think you need to beat KU or OSU..

So if ISU goes 5-2 int heir last 7, and loses to KU and OSU, they are not in the tourney?

Any five wins and we're in. Anything less is shaky at best.

I'm not sure winning at sucks-to-BU and OU would be thought of as a win of that magnitude.

5-2 and were in with a 21-10 record. 4-3 and it will depend if we can take a game or so in the big 12. Much more shaky than last year due to big12 being down and no huge wins, yet.

OSU may be Top 10 when we play them, KU could also be top 10, those would be signature wins.
If we go 5-2 and lose to both OSU and KU, I think you would still need a Big 12 tourney win.

Re: Getting to the Tourney is about the KU and OSU games
The Big 12 will take no less then 5 teams, IMO, and could easily take 6. KU, OSU and KSU are locks at this point, IMO. That means Baylor, ISU, OU will probably be fighting for the final 2 or 3 spots. My only fear is that WV or Texas go on a run down the stretch here and get one of those spots.
Texas was a completely different team last night with Kabongo back, and they have many opportunities to prove that in the last few weeks starting Saturday night in Lawrence with Gameday there.

I'm not sure winning at sucks-to-BU and OU would be thought of as a win of that magnitude. While not as high profile wins as KU or OSU at home, they would take care of the issue of whether ISU can win on the road. That is one of the biggest blips on ISU's resume right now. BU and OU would be road wins over conference teams with a pulse. I have a feeling that before it is all said and done WVU would be too.

Not true. Don't **** away games against crap teams and you're in.

What about ISU this year makes the fans think we deserve to be in the tournament? Quite frankly this does not feel like a team that should be in. Squeking out wins at home, and having the ability to lose to about anyone else anywhere else.
This team will not win 5 of the last seven. I just don't think they have the fortitude to do it. And that is probably the way it should be. This isn't a tournament team. It hasn't been all year.

Yeah, agreed. Everyone else would have agreed before that Kansas game too, I think. That "should have won" gave a lot of hope, even though it was a loss.
Regardless of the NCAA tourney, we're capable of winning the Big 12 tournament. I don't think we will, we might just lose the first game again instead, but we're not sitting ducks.
