Jim Boeheim went off on Andy Katz saying he was an idiot amounst other things in post game after losing to UConn.
I've never like Boeheim and he is starting to look more and more like Bobby Knight. Looked really bad trying to bring down Katz.
Bobby Knight would of never done that. He called reporters out for asking stupid questions, he didn't call them out for writing something negative about him or his teams.
They said he is still bitter that Katz reported on the Bernie Fine story. Even though Katz wasn't the investigative reporter, Boheim is basically being a whiny ***** about it and would never return Katz's calls for interview for the NCAA tourney last year when all 67 other teams did.
Boeheim is the best coach ever, IMO. He is Syracuse basketball; Roy Danforth arguably laid the foundation (Boeheim himself has said this), but Boeheim is the one who elevated them to the next level and turned Syracuse into a powerhouse program. If you've ever been to that miserable little dumpy city in the middle of nowhere, you'd realize just how impressive it is that a basketball giant could arise from such a place. And he did it all while playing against the giants of college basketball.
He's always been a complete ***** to the media, though.

I have more respect for a coach like Lute Olson. He had the same effect at Arizona but did it with more class(and knifed the hawkeyes when leaving, which I consider a bonus).
Dan Patrick talked about this on his show yesterday and said that Boeheim was mad at Katz for reporting something about one of his players that he said he told him that information off the record. DP also said that Boeheim was at fault too that you can never expect anything you tell someone from the media to stay off the record because reporters sometimes share information and the next guy that hears it that information it no longer is really off the record anymore so if you don't want something reported never assume that what you say is off the record. The other issue he had was that while Boeheim has his right to be mad at Katz it was not the time or place to react that that, its something he should have done face to face and not in front of reporters but again that was his choice.
