Mock NCAA selection
They do this every year where all types of media people go to Indianapolis and go through a mock selection and seeding where they select the 68 teams and seed them. Some people are live tweeting the results. https://twitter.com/EricPrisbell https://twitter.com/SethDavisHoops https://twitter.com/jeffborzello https://twitter.com/AdamHogeCBS
It's a fun thing to follow.

Re: Mock NCAA selection
Iowa is obviously not in at this point but I have a feeling they may will end up making it.

Re: Mock NCAA selection
These are their automatic qualifiers and teams that are locks...
Right now Iowa State is one of 43 teams "under consideration"... -
Re: Mock NCAA selection
Initial 1 seeds are Indiana, Miami, Duke and Florida.

Re: Mock NCAA selection
This is almost as cool as the posterology idea.

they got 32 teams in so far. So that's the mock-committee list that isn't either an at-large lock or auto-qualifier?

They had teams like Kansas as an at-large and a tourney championship team so I didn't know how many teams they had to pick.

they got 32 teams in so far. Being as unbiased as possible, if Southern Miss is in the field, Iowa State should be close to the next team in.
USM has 3 notable advantages: higher RPI (40 vs 53), better non-conference SOS (111 vs 175) and lack of a nagging sub-200 loss.
Nearly everything else on ISU’s resume is better: top-50 record (2-5 vs. 0-4); average RPI of top-50 losses (23 vs 30), record in 51-100 (4-1 vs. 0-2) and overall SOS (67 vs 104).

Re: Mock NCAA selection
I'll guess that Iowa State gets an 11 seed in this mock bracket.

My guess is Iowa State will be a first four team Your guess is probably correct, although I don't entirely agree.
I still see ISU at just inside the play-in. St. Mary's didn't hurt itself w/ home loss to Zaga, but didn't take advantage.
Any of these close calls would put Cyclones at a solid 10: @KU, @OSU, @Tech, @UT.
