Struggling in the frontcourt...
Can we make up for it with athleticism? As of late, I am not seeing the proverbial "crashing of the boards." Anybody else witnessing the same?

They had 16 offensive rebounds last night. If that's not crashing the boards, then I don't know what is.

Correct! But we have slipped to 18th all-up in rebounding. I recall us being in the top 10 at a point in time? What is happening?

Re: Struggling in the frontcourt...
Good point. Those 2 rebounds are the single reason we lost that game.
Edit: As for what's happening, we don't have any more Alabama A&Ms. The crap teams are gone now. Conference play is, like, tougher. The opponents are, like, better and stuff.

Agreed.... as we were out-rebounded again last night... do we need better BIGs? I realize Freddie can handle our back court... and then some... other than Niang, can he recruit and coach a front court?

I understand the frustration, but let's not be so dismissive of Niang. The dude is gonna pay some serious dividends down the road. Hoiberg is taking some heat recently for his big man recruiting, but you can't exactly gloss over Georges. The guy is well above the curve offensively right now, and his defense will come with maturity and time in the weight room. Sure, Fred has some work to do on the recruiting trail, but I'm not worried.

Re: Struggling in the frontcourt...
LOL! You realize Niang got worked last night... as well as against K State (Gibson)... Percy is struggling... Booker could give a rats ***... Should we not worry about our 4's and 5's??? Especially come tournament time?

Melvin only getting 20 and 16? What kind of fort is that?

Re: Struggling in the frontcourt...
Defensively, in the paint we are getting worked!!!

Re: Struggling in the frontcourt...
I'm more worried about Doug Szathke than our frontcourt.

The best measurement of rebounding is offensive rebounding %. We got 33% of our misses. They got 22% of their misses.
the final rebounding numbers were skewed by the fact that we missed 20 more shots than they did.
