Re: Possible Transfer
Kale is actually a perfect fit for what we do. Shooter who can take it to the rim some (better than he is given credit for IMO). D is suspect but I think that can be said for almost anyone on the current team not named Babb (and maybe Ejim).
Plus a 6'7" guard/small forward can, much like Clyburn this year, help off set the lack of a true post. A whole team of 6'4" to 6'8" guys who can shoot it is pretty hard to guard.

He and Bill Carmody have been butting heads and has a good relationship with Hoiberg.
This obviously is a process in the works but definitely catches my attention.
What do you guys think? A couple of things:
1. We heard this with that rat Uthoff last year, so I'm not going to believe anything until I see it.
2. Right now we do not have a scholarship for next year which is when a transfer would have to be under scholarship.
3. I wish Kale had picked Iowa STate the first time.

They use motion, multiple picks, quick passing and spacing to get the shot they want - in this case a layup; while Fred's NBA style offense uses motion, picks, quick passing and spacing to get the shot they want - in this case a trey. On the surface very different but at it's core, very much the same.
EDIT: Also in both offenses all five players are much more interchangeable than in many standard offenses.
If I'm all wet on that, please educate me further on the Princeton offense.

Implicit in the response "I trust Fred", I think, is the idea that maybe we don't really know why Fred wants a certain player, or what he would see in him. But just because we can't see why he wants a certain player doesn't mean we are going to poo poo it out of hand. or result to pure speculation.
In my post where I said I trust Fred, it was following the comment that I think we will be getting awfully crowded at shooting guard. Honestly I can't say why he would want him from what I have read, who we have coming in, and who we are pursuing. But it doesn't mean I'm going to lose my **** over it IF he does ever come here. Many feel the same way, and their responses are relevant because it speaks to how we feel about the coaching staff.

Re: Possible Transfer
Saying "I trust Fred" is saying that he knows more about who/what he wants on his basketball team than anonymous posters on a message board. Evidently there are posters who don't trust Fred and/or think they know more about what he wants than he does.

Just because he does know that doesn't mean there aren't questions to ask or discussions worth having. It's a cop out statement.
