whats the difference in their coaches push vs our coaches push

With all the talk of Mike Montgomery pushing his player Allen Crabbe yesterday, I always wonder why CFH didnt catch any flack for given Chris Allen a shove last year when he (CA) was just chucking up shots.

Dont get me wrong I was glad he didnt catch any real heat but with all the touchy feely you cant do that in this world. Just wondered what everyone took of this?

I didn't see whatever happened yesterday.

But I didn't think Fred's push was really a push. We only made a big deal about it because Fred doesn't usually do anything like that.

Because Chris Allen didnt act like a ****** when it happened. Crabbe was ready to fight after the fact, Allen kept his cool.

When comparing both of the pushes, Fred's was more like a tickle in the stomach and Montgomery's was an actual push. And Allen didn't have to walk away from the bench and pout for a few minutes.

CFH took a bit of heat on here if I remember right. Or at least several people were saying it was going to explode into something worse.

I kinda think some of these guys need it once in a while (though it is out of line for a coach to get TO PHYSICAL) , but I think your right (which I hadnt even thought of) its not the pushers reaction, its the guy that needed to check his head out of his *** (the player). CA prob realized he was being an idiot.

Yes it is a big deal for Fred to do that, seems he has all the players respect. Kinda what made me worried last Wed at Tx when CFH had to wipe the sweat off his brow; knew we where in trouble then.

I don't have a problem with either... But Fred's shove was a bit more controlled, and the reaction from Chris was next to non-existent.

Maybe it was what the coach said during and after the shove that got him so upset

The players reactions was definitely the big difference. Cal's coach sure seemed to push him in a more physical way but I think it kind of looks like he held up quite a bit. In my opinion, things like that shouldn't be taken too serious as it's just to get the player fired up and not to inflict harm. The player should understand the coach isn't out to get him. Though in the heat of the moment it's understandable.

Now if that contacted moved up to say, the head. This would've been a lot different IMO.

Edit for addition: Also, I think on ESPN I heard that the player responded with like 14 pts in the second half, 10 of them in the final few minutes.

I'm not saying Montgomery was right or wrong but I was hearing about the push on the radio all day and after seeing it for the first time I didn't think it was as big of a deal as they made it out to be.

Not that big of deal. I think talking heads need to fill airtime so they over analyze stuff like this. Everyone is always looking for something to complain/worry about.
