Why do people trip over themselves to bestow credibility on the media when they compliment us, only to turn around and act like they don't know what they're talking about when they say something negative? Letting a poor outside shooting team like KU knock down 54% overall and 52% from three in your own building won't win you many of those games, regardless of what the refs are calling.

We have a unique team that doesn't match up well against them defensively (should have known that from the first game), however we are a mismatch for them on the offensive end as well. Our problem is we don't have a presence inside, especially when Ejim is out. That should change between one of the two JUCO bigs next year. Niang is not a defensive presence. He's alright on the ball and he takes charges but no one is worried about him blocking shots. We just don't have anyone in there and we just aren't good enough and stopping penetration. The frustrating thing is more often than not, Babb shuts someone down but someone else goes off because everyone else is average. Then tonight, credit to Johnson and Releford, they made some tough shots. You still shouldn't lose scoring 90 and Fred needs to take some of the onus on that. I felt Booker should have played a little more in the second half because he is a guy that could perhaps get in the way. I also agree with changing philosophy and for the life of me, I can't figure out why McGee isn't isolated at least sometimes.

It doesn't help that Babb is the only perimeter defender with a pulse. Withey could be wearing our uniform and it wouldn't matter because he'd foul out every game because we can't keep anyone out of the lane and then when they do get in the lane we overhelp.

College basketball teams which win things that actually matter play defense. Defense is a constant, offense goes in streaks. We should never lose a game we score 80 in regulation. 90 is even worse.
