I have never seen an official actually make a 5 second call late in a game. They just go through the motions of counting, but never make a call. Ball handlers know this fact, and they pretend like the rule doesn't exist. That's why Self told his defenders to play off when we were burning the clock, so they didn't risk a foul. If the powers that be wanted it to be enforced, it could be. But sadly, it's another ignored rule like carrying and traveling. Either enforce the rules or take them off the books.

I don't think we'll have to worry about seeing Tommy reffing any of our games the rest of the year no matter what the league office decides to do. I'm guessing the officiating schedule has already been readjusted to avoid that situation.

And then Tommy will pop up at just the right time in a future season to curse the Cyclones once again. Wasn't good old Tom one of the refs at KU in 2004? That should disqualify him for ISU games for life.

He's my bosses boss and head of the company. Nothing I can do but smile and say "we'll get ya next time". Then he says "not likely" and walks away.

He's the leader of the company? I would have serious concerns about the long-term outlook for that company if I were in your position.

Just say to him "At least we swept that power team, TCU."
