Sure, it could have gotten ugly.
Roles reversed and it was Iowa, hawk fans would have been ******* on the refs on their way off the floor..but we both know Iowa has a ways to go before they beat any top team or come close to that matter.
“I told you, I don’t care if you’re black or white. I don’t care if you’re rich or poor. I don’t care where you come from, whether it’s Texas, Florida, California, or right here in the state of Iowa, I don’t care about any of that… But what I did care about is moving forward from that day on, that we were one team." -Paul Rhoads

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that. ~ George Carlin

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life:
The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves Orcs. ~ John Rogers

There's a difference between "rushing the court" & stepping 4-5 feet away from your seat..

& the tweets didn't happen in Hilton, which is what the post you replied to was referring to. But you're right, even we can't control every single fan of our school that has a Twitter account. Every single poster here has said those tweets were idiotic, disrespectful, & way out of line. Go ahead, troll on.

Re: I am proud of the CF community

I agree with the OP. For the most part, the actual CF community was great. Most if the issues came from trolls/peeps who normally aren't on our site. Our "regulars" are fantastic. Sure, some of you toe the line every once in a while but that's okay. You're passionate, which is why we're still in business. That's why this site exists, for you to write/read about your favorite team.

We did have a long night and I thank all of our mods for helping out the way that they did. I was up moderating until around 4 a.m. But other than the ref's number getting posted (which we took care of ASAP), most of what went down was typical message board stuff that just comes with the territory.

Site traffic was insane yesterday. Just insane. Had roughly 5 K more unique's than on a normal high traffic day.

That's just because we have so much experience getting hosed, that we've become really good at dealing with it.

His name has been posted here, and he is a big donor apparently. Just seemed like an over excited cop than an over excited fan.

Yes I agree, which is why I included moderators in my post - but I should have been more specific. The moderators worked their arses off and did a great job. Thank you!
