Ever hear of “PUMP & DUMP” schemes?

It’s been a notoriously well-known and practiced fraud technique used to “pump up” publicly traded stocks through news media, “expert” newsletter and bulletins, “fax-casts”, SPAM E-mail reports, etc., only to have the originators of the propaganda campaigns to sell “short” right before truthful news OR reports hit! Many such unethical +/- criminal operators have greatly enriched themselves with this (or related) schemes.

Think for a moment – even besides more conventional motives/motivations – how/when a legitimately surprising and superior sports team can be capitalized upon as they initially and astonishingly (to the public anyway) rise to or near to the top of the standings, only to fortuitously be CUT DOWN (especially if at home – where the team is undefeated)…right on que!
Do you KNOW how profitable that is could be?

Tim Donaghy made a TON of money, and even though he spent 18 months in prison, he sure does live comfortably! Oh, no! I am NOT suggesting something like that could EVER happen again…but just for fun…
