Thank goodness for being on Big Monday. You gotta believe everyone on that committee had one eye on the game and saw how good Iowa State can be. Yes, the Clones still need to get a one or two more wins, but after watching Monday, it's impossible to think there are 37 better teams in the nation.

I hope this call doesn't have to come into play as far as selction is concerned. We need to still finish strong.

Of course it won't hurt our tournament chances. Every conference tournament champion is an automatic bid, CW!

You're right. If this is a Tuesday night Big 12 Network game, do you really think Andy Katz would be writing about it?

I think the exposure will help our chances of getting into the field, but my biggest concern is that the loss will affect our seeding some. Of course, if it bumps us from a 9 to a 10, I won't complain.

My favorite press was when I came in from shoveling and heard Kornheiser say, "Coming up on PTI, Iowa State gets hosed." Him and Wilbon were both just spot on, brutally honest, and obviously not concerned about KU backlash.

The belief that the loss wouldn't hurt our chances could have something to do with the fix being in for Kansas to get them a higher seed and make sure they win the regular season conference title instead of KSU.

This is exactly right. Everyone saw this game, and there isn't a human being unaffiliated with the University of Kansas that thinks they legitimately won that game. I said yesterday that I hope a subjective, human selection committee remembers this if we're a bubble team or there is some debate about where our seed should be. Nice to have some evidence that it is in fact the case.

I will say, the level of media attention and unanimity this has received nationally has been really surprising to me. I mean, teams lose games on bad calls fairly frequently. Whether it was the egregiousness of the block no-call, or the numerous blown calls in the last minute, or the prime-time ESPN slot, who knows. But in terms of how the public (and hopefully selection committee) is treating this game, ISU is winning in every way possible short of the Big 12 standings.

It won't hurt us if we win some more games. Can't bank on this, winning at Oklahoma would help a lot

I still think, if this isn't Kansas, we aren't on Big Monday, but we also don't get the bad calls. NCAA has to start getting their act together on officiating. There are no shortcuts or concessions. It is already eating away at viewers, that will only get worse.

That's the thing that has surprised me the most. I can't remember this level of notoriety surrounding a call in an ISU game... ever.

I only wish that it had happened back in 2000 when we got hosed in Auburn Hills.

I remember Auburn Hills, and while it was bad, it wasn't this bad. I was younger, and I freaked out worse, but that was in the tourney also. The calls here were so many and so obvious, I can't remember ever seeing anything so blatant. I think that is why there is so much notoriety. I think they should get them to quit focusing on that last call. There were many others.

The MSU calls seemed to be incompetence. The KU calls seemed to be part of a plan.

Kudos to Randy Peterson for calling a spade a spade. Most local print journalists ignored or danced around the questionable officiating. Shane on them for not matching the intensity of that with the national media.

I think the inexcusable failure to tag Withey with his fifth foul really set the stage. That alone was a "you've got to be kidding me" moment even for casual fans and it compounded the effect of the calls in the final minute.
