All fair points on Ejim. Like I wrote, it's an impossible question to answer. Can make a case for any of the top six really.

Which really makes this team fun. So much to like about this year's team.

I think it is definitely Melvin. I like Babb, but I think his defense benefits from Fred's defensive scheme. Don't get me wrong, he is a very good defender, but if you watch he is not responsible for any helpside defense. I think it hurts our team defense quite a bit to have one defender who is not responsible for helping, all for the sake of shutting out one opposing player. I think we saw that quite a bit on Monday-- he shut down McClemore, but Lucious was often left on an island 1-on-1 with Johnson because they knew Babb wouldn't help off of him.

Re: CF Mailbag: Who is Iowa State's MVP?

I have been thinking about it, and I hate to vote for favorites because I think all the players are trying their best, and that is what I want to happen. However, Babb has had an outstanding attitude, ever since showing up here, and has a great personality which never seems to get ruffled. I think we have a great team, but Babb deserves this award, this year.

I'm gonna go with the odd pick and say Niang. Our offense just runs so much better when he's on the floor, and he's such a vocal leader, even as a freshman

I would like to also give props to McGee, Clyburn, and Lucious. They are transfers, but they have been three of the best people that I could possibly imagine along with Babb, Booker, and McBeth. Think about the odds of such a thing happening. These are great young men, and I hope they understand how much we support them.

I have to go with Ejim for MVP. Dude has been an absolute beast for his size.

Also, I'm 21, so I want my free Busch Light!

Lately, I think the player we can least afford to have on the bench is Korie Lucious.

Re: CF Mailbag: Who is Iowa State's MVP?

I have to say that personally for me that it is McGee. I cant remember how many times that imo we were saved by somthing that he has done. Obviously I think that statistically ME gets the nod. Also, I think that Ive personally under valued Clyburn. I watch the games and wonder is he even on the court, then I see the stat sheet and realize he had a great game.

Re: CF Mailbag: Who is Iowa State's MVP?

When so many players could be considered for MVP, a simple way is to remove each one from the roster completely, and figure out which lineup would suffer the most from the absence.

    1. Ejim
    2. McGee
    3. Lucious
    4. Clyburn
    5. Niang/Babb
