Most Inconsistent Player in ISU History?
Probably gonna have a lot of hate in this thread, but check out these stats this year from Will Clyburn: | MIN | FGM-FGA | 3PM-3PA | FTM-FTA | REB | AST | STL | PF | TO | PTS | | 31 | 2-14 | 1-5 | 3-4 | 7 | 1 | 1 | 4 | 3 | 8 | | 37 | 6-17 | 1-3 | 8-8 | 15 | 4 | 0 | 3 | 3 | 21 | | 30 | 9-16 | 4-7 | 10-11 | 5 | 0 | 2 | 0 | 2 | 32 | | 29 | 3-11 | 2-4 | 0-0 | 7 | 2 | 2 | 1 | 6 | 8 | | 24 | 0-5 | 0-1 | 0-0 | 3 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 5 | 0 | | 36 | 8-16 | 2-5 | 6-9 | 10 | 1 | 2 | 1 | 1 | 24 | | 36 | 7-14 | 3-6 | 11-12 | 10 | 1 | 2 | 3 | 2 | 28 | | 35 | 7-10 | 1-3 | 4-4 | 5 | 2 | 1 | 1 | 2 | 19 | | 30 | 2-9 | 2-6 | 0-0 | 2 | 2 | 0 | 4 | 5 | 6 | | 45 | 6-16 | 0-4 | 8-9 | 7 | 1 | 0 | 2 | 2 | 20 | | 28 | 1-6 | 0-2 | 6-7 | 9 | 2 | 0 | 1 | 1 | 8 |

A lot of people love what Clyburn brings to the table - hell, look at some of those stats.
A lot of people hate what Clyburn brings to the table because they remember the bad.
I think it's great that we have Clyburn this year. We wouldn't be an NCAA team without him. But he is so unbelievably hard to watch some games simply because he is so inconsistent.

we aren't an ncaa team. yet. and if we become one, it won't be just because he is on the team. he has a weak handle, and looks lost for the better part of most games. he can score and rebound because of his size, but he just is not a dominant player.

Re: Most Inconsistent Player in ISU History?
Yeah I really think we will replace him much easier than we replace McGee, Babb and Lucious. He's just looked so slow when he tries going to the rim lately it's painful to watch.

Re: Most Inconsistent Player in ISU History?
He's way too weak in the paint.

Re: Most Inconsistent Player in ISU History?
I would venture to guess those good games were home games. I have noticed he doesn't bring much toughness or intensity on the road with him.

Re: Most Inconsistent Player in ISU History?
Thomas won't replace him as a freshman, but I think he'll end up a bit better than him.
Thomas seems to be a guy that will give his all for 40 minutes. Clyburn the opposite unfortunately.

Re: Most Inconsistent Player in ISU History?
Ignoring the last couple weeks, he's arguably been one of the most consistent players in the country. Even considering the last two weeks, it's pretty rare for Clyburn to score fewer than 10 points and gets less than 5 boards. Similarly, it's rare for him to go off and score 25 or more points. He doesn't average 15 points by scoring 25 points one game and 5 the next; he averages 15 because he almost always gets out there and scores around 15 points a game. That's pretty damned consistent.
Yes, he's had his bad games (today, K-State, Iowa). Most players do. But I'm just not sure how you can look at his numbers and see a whole lot of variance from game to game.

I sincerely hate watching Will Clyburn play basketball. OMG he can dunk HES 6'8! Every DI player that tall can dunk. He's weak, has a pretty poor jumpshoot and doesn't bring much else to the table, he's handles are too soft. He'll fit in just fine over in Europe

We aren't an ncaa team?? We are probably as good a team as there is in the conference. We've just lost every single close game a team can.
ISU is a very good team. Obviously we ran into a buzz saw today in OU playing out of their minds combined with the poor shooting.
People have got to see this...

Someone needs to post Jake Sullivan's home and away splits

Yes, on a good day. And on a bad day we are as bad as the worse there is in the conference.

Re: Most Inconsistent Player in ISU History?
He is definitely the most inconsistent "star" player I have seen, yes.
I don't know what the problem is with this team on the road. There is enough talent and experience on this team that it should not be a problem to beat equal or lesser teams on the road, but that is not the case. Eigth conference road game of the season, and the players and coaches have still not figured it out. Disappointing to say the least.

He's the only player in the Big 12 who averages in the top 5 of points and rebounds but he doesn't bring much to the table besides dunking? Then why doesn't every D1 player his height average 15 and 7? I'll eagerly be awaiting your response.
