Lost some respect for Walters this afternoon
Took the easy way out on the Murph and Andy show. He went PC and called Bill Self a class act.
Bill Self was just as much to blame for the end of game drama a few weeks ago when he blatantly cheated by pushing Withey back out on the court and having another one of his players raise his hand.
That is not a class act. I used to think the same thing about Self but no longer.
Exaggeration is a BILLION times worse than understating. -
Re: Lost some respect for Walters this afternoon
That's not on Self. The player raised his hand before Self could do anything.
Dont blame Self for the officials screwing us. That's just not correct.

That is not a class act. I used to think the same thing about Self but no longer. So you want Walters to say tell it like we see it and lose his job? He interacts with Self I'm sure much more than you ever will. He has a better idea on how he is as a person more than you would.

Re: Lost some respect for Walters this afternoon
Is there really a provision for Self to go over to the scorers table and correct the call?
He's going to deal the hand he's dealt. The refs gave him a gift and he used it. That's what people do.

Re: Lost some respect for Walters this afternoon
I'm not sure how much of that was orchestrated by Self. Seemed to be all what-his-name-Young(?) and the idiot refs. Self and Whitey simply followed the refs orders.

He's going to deal the hand he's dealt. The refs gave him a gift and he used it. That's what people do. When Jamie Vanderbeken hit a game winner against Creighton (that shouldn't have counted without question), nobody expected Fred to ask for the call to be reversed.
No coach in the world is ever going to do do anything like that.

Could have got out of the question a lot easier.

Every single coach is going to take advantage of the refs calling it incorrectly. You get enough bad calls that you take the ones that go your way when you can.

No coach in the world is ever going to do do anything like that. I still think there's legitimate question on JVBs 3, but your point stands. -
Re: Lost some respect for Walters this afternoon
Is it self's fault the refs were saying foul on young? I'd push my player back out there in the heat of the moment too

Re: Lost some respect for Walters this afternoon
John Walters is a saint, and his daughter is damn fine. Im allowed to say that, cus we're the same age. So he stays.
I AM SO FOOTBALL TO BE YOUR PROUD COACH -

That is not a class act. I used to think the same thing about Self but no longer. The fact is the ref called it on Young. Self saw this as Withey started to head to the bench and then pushed him back. Lose respect for Walters if he says/does something stupid - this was not something stupid.

More making a point then trying to drum up more controversy. That was the first thing that came to my mind.

I just thought it was funny. It looked to me like we were arguing the same point.
