That appears to me to be a tactic to set up the game for a whole lot of bad calls against ISU. It gives him something visual to point to and say, see! I got bad calls too.
It will be interesting to look back at the game and see if there was anything really bad to cause him to go off like that.
I am just naturally skeptical when it comes to Kansas. I have seen probably 60 Kansas basketball games over the years and I am naturally skeptical when it comes to Kansas.
These threads of blaming the refs or chastising Self are uber lame. Our boys played a sloppy second half and Self is going to do what he's got to do to get his team to win, just as Hoiberg would. Maybe being arrogant or about to burst a vein in his forehead is how he wants to go about it. There's not much of an outside reason as to why we lost; just less than stellar play and the better team won tonight.
It sucks that we weren't able to get the Kansas monkey off our back, but two things:
1. We finally won a first round BIGXII Tournament game after seven years of waiting.
2. We are going to the NCAA tournament.
Our season isn't over.
Kansas gets the calls in each game. That is part of playing them. Every team that plays them fights the same battle. Kansas knows how to play agressive and not get the foul. Our players try to make it look like they are not fouling and get called. My point if you are going to get called for fouls make them count. Make them look like they are in the flow of the game, instead of standing straight up.
The officials were fine tonight. It's a shame they couldn't come out and help defend the bucket because we sure as hell weren't.
Just too many turnovers, got to get that out of our system. Couldn't get any stops, they weren't going to stop hitting shots like okie for the last 8 minutes.
