How will this team do next season?

I have really started following the team over the last couple months, but we lose a lot of Seniors who are leaders of this team. Niang and Ejim are back but the loses in the back court are huge. I dont know what is behind these guys, as I dont really follow basketball like I do football, so I am just wondering if we finish middle of the pack or below next season?

Difficult to say. It all hinges upon how the Freshman transition to Division I basketball. Thomas and Morris are definitely talented young men. Sure think there will be learning curves. I wouldn't expect a stellar season..

Looking around the Big 12, I don't see a clear favorite.

Obviously it will be Kansas until they are dethroned, but there is a lot of uncertainty and youth.

OU has some youth and a few players back, but they lose Osby and Pledger.

OSU loses Smart, Brown, likely Nash.

Texas looks good on paper, but Kabongo is probably gone and Barnes is a bad coach.

KSU should be decent, but they also lose a bunch of guys and have a shite recruiting class.

Baylor, well. We'll see. It remains to be seen whether Drew can coach. They lose Jackson.

WVU has some youth coming in, but who knows after this year.

TTU and TCU - hopefully they are more competitive. We need a strong conference, top to bottom.

Looks like a good chance for ISU to step in if our freshmen and JC boys can ball.

We're going to be so bad, that we will be lucky to win a single game. Other than our seniors, we're losing our coaches. Fred is going to the NBA and taking the assistants with him. Niang, Walker, Okoro and Long will transfer. Morris and Cluster will look elsewhere.
Bubu will be the heart, soul, PG, SG, F, C, and HC of this team.

I think we will be a bubble team. Have a chance to win 20 or 21 games. Big 12 will be down again next year with KU, OSU and KSU losing alot.

I'd guess with our youth, we'll struggle at times. I think about .500 in conference would be a decent expectation.

I think we will be very similar to Iowa this year -- experience at forward with Niang and Ejim, and two freshmen at the 1 and 2 (I'm assuming Morris & Thomas start and/or play a lot). That means a tough year, I think, with flashes of potential. I'd guess maybe 17-15 overall, with 7 or 8 wins in conference.

That's what I think based on what I've seen. Hopefully there is untapped talent on the bench (Okoro? SDW? Ellerman?) and it makes a significant impact and I'm too pessimistic.
