Back in Oct. I expected this team to be 11-4 starting the Big 12 season, with losses to Bradley, UNI, Drake, and Alabama. Given the Staiger situation and all the injuries, I am not unhappy with 10-5, still very possible. Good things to come out of the last week, Pete has really grown into his role, and is again making 3s. Garrett gets better every game, and Wesley can play two games in 24 hours and score 20 in the second game.
Agree with your assessments. One game behind where I thought we would be, but no worries I definitely think winning our last 3 non-conference games would be great heading into the conference season. We are playing our best ball of the season right now.
No, definitly not. We'll need at least 8 wins to make the NIT and I just don't see it happening. I'm hoping for about 6 Big 12 wins to finish at 15-13, and maybe make that incredibly lame new tournament this year, the CBI, to get some more experience for the young guys.
I think that Mac has done a terrific job with the team so far this year. Given the fact that we have had a few distractions (Lucca and Vette) and the fact that we have had to battle some injuries, Mac has done a great job of keeping everyone together and improving as the preseason goes on. I don't think we'll tear up the Big 12 or anything, but I do look forward to seeing what this team can do, and hopefully we can catch some teams on an off night and pull out a few unexpected W's.
