Re: Harrison Barnes Picture in Ames Tribune
I love that he is wearing the same number that Ronnie wore at ISU!

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes. -
Re: Harrison Barnes Picture in Ames Tribune
For those that have seen him play, who would you compare him to?
Clone to the Bone with the up and coming IOWA STATE. -
Re: Harrison Barnes Picture in Ames Tribune
I hope he doesn't take advice from Ben Cotton about recruiting. He will commit and decommit at least 3 times if he does. I know Ben's situation is different from most people, but I'm sure he's probably a little "anti-cyclone" right now.

I tipped over to Grinnell yesterday to take in the scrimmages that Ames/Iowa City High/Johnston/Grinnell participated in, which Ames went 6-0. I had heard that he's been playing a lot of post in high school, but he was more of a guard/forward yesterday. He could do whatever he wanted, handle, pull up jumper, three, drive, and dunk. I came away impressed with Harrison more than ever. I see why we are all over him- he is nice.
It was pretty clear that you had two talents in the gym with Matt Gatens and Harrison Barnes, but in my opinion (and a few others) it was not the sophomore trying to keep up with the senior, but the senior not wanting to be upended by the sophomore. Not to take anything from Gatens, because he really is a talented player, but Harrison is special.

"Day after day, situation after situation you do things the right way. If you do things the right way, in life, you are going to be successful. I'm not just your football coach; I'm not just here to win games. I could not be prouder of who we are and who we are becoming, together. You do things right in the classroom, off and on the field; that's whats's makes us Cyclones and that's what our culture's all about."

Ben Cotton wanted to be a Cyclone, but when your dad gets canned, kind of hard to still go there. I'm not surprised that he is now going to Nebraska, but thought he was really looking forward to going to Louisville.
