Re: Eikmeier scores 28 on Saturday Night
Our coaches offered this kid before his junior year of high school. Division one coaches don't do that unless they see something special.
That doesn't mean he will make an instant impact. He will be behind some experienced players, and it will take some time to get past the learning curve.

Re: Eikmeier scores 28 on Saturday Night
I think this kid is going to be really good, a Jake Sullivan-type, but taller and quicker. I hope we pick up a good JC guard this spring and redshirt him next year. Should have some good shooters in the future with him and Staiger.

cyclone#1 does NOT make his point because he is simply stating things about him ripping it up against lower talent. Who cares who he has played? Its all about how good this kid actually is when you watch him. I wont say how good Wes should be because I havent seen him play.
"That will be great if he can but the reality is that the chances are good that he will end up being a project that hopefully can develop into a decent spot-up shooter." IF you have researched Wes at all he is NOT just a spot shooter, so don't bet on that.
Please people do your homework before you start calling out other fanatics. Well, we butter shut down any and all talk of our HS recruits because I would bet most of the people discussing them have never seen them play.
Your other comments are so illogical that they are nearly impossible to respond to.
"Who cares who he has played? Its all about how good this kid actually is when you watch him."...and how the kid looks has nothing to do with who he is playing against? Come now...a great example is Haluska...30-89 from 3 point land in JUCO...moves up in competition and what is he...0-forever.
"he is NOT just a spot shooter"...how can you tell me this if you have never seen him play as you stated earlier in your post? You better start practicing what you preach big boy.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes. -
Re: Eikmeier scores 28 on Saturday Night
I think Wes will be the Ben Jacobsen-type player who really excels in McDermott's system. From what I have seen of him (pick-up ball), he has a nice quick release on his jumber...shouldn't have a problem getting shots off.

Re: Eikmeier scores 28 on Saturday Night
I have watched him play for the last 2 years. He is bigger and has improved his ball handling over last year. He was the Gatoraide player of the year in NE last year as a junior. He also holds the record for made 3's at ISU in the drill scoring 214 3's. All posters should remember recruits do read the message boards and we should all try to keep things positive on both sides of the discussion.

Please explain this drill to me...I've asked before but no one ever explains it for me.

Re: Eikmeier scores 28 on Saturday Night
You shoot until you miss, you have to make the next one to keep going, if you miss 2 in a row the next shot has to be a swish. Wes had 2 streches of 40 made in a row. The stamina needed to just put up that many shots has to be great.

Re: Eikmeier scores 28 on Saturday Night
As I recall if a player misses two in a row they have to swish the next or they have to start over. Wes beat Lucca's record. If i remember correctly Lucca's record included making 40 straight during the drill.

I hope this kid will be able to get his shot off against the significantly bigger and more athletic players he will see in the Big 12. Just look at Haluska this year...shooting against DI teams (even weaker DI teams) is not as easy as shooting against HS and JUCO teams!
Happy New Year Debbie Downer!!!

Hmmm interesting the Wes stalker rips him and denounces
him everytime nebrclone updates how Eik is doing, yet i put the idea out that possibly Brackins maybe a little overrated and im called a angry hater. Lets talk about the real haters on this site. There were people admitting they were HAPPY that Haluska got hurt the other night! Another freebie walkon that has really helped the team out. Im sure his shooting and defense in practice, and hustle n defense in games has been a plus. I hope Haluska starts nailing threes and flips off the 'fans'.

Yutan is located one-quarter mile north of State Highway 92, just 22 miles west of Omaha. U.S. Highway 77 is five miles west and U.S. Highway 275 is about five miles east of Yutan. Population just over 1000.

This sounds similar to a timed drill my son does where you get +1 point for a make and -2 points for a miss.

Hey, don't sell Yutan short. Last time I checked they not only had a bar, but also a lounge and an American Legion club.
