Is Wes still getting better?
I take it Wes' foot is still getting better - right? After the game GMAC said his defense and rebounding are still bad because of the injury. -
Re: Is Wes still getting better?
My take on what GMac said was that it's more of a "game shape" type thing right now with Wes. His injury limited his practice time and his running, much like Jiri, who is now in much better shape than when the season started. His numbers show this.

Re: Is Wes still getting better?
His defense can still greatly improve. I don't know if it's the new position he is playing (SG) compared to last year or if it's his foot, but he has been getting burned defensively alot.
Having said that, he is also stroking the 3 quite nicely and needs to be on the floor.

it seems like hes moving better now on offense, and also seems like he has more trust in his foot, and more confidence.

I don't think he is 100% yet.

Re: Is Wes still getting better?
I will take him at 90% on defense if he scores 20 a game and makes 75 of his three pointers.

Re: Is Wes still getting better?
I would put him at 70% right now. His shot is going down well, but his rebounding and defense still have a long way to go. Once he gets his explosiveness back, and his confidence in that explosiveness, he is really going to open some eyes. He will also get more aggressive attacking the hoop, which he isn't doing much yet.

Re: Is Wes still getting better?
He averaged 8 rebounds a game last year. Until he averages 6-8 rebounds, he may not be 100%.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

Re: Is Wes still getting better?
When I saw him in Vegas off court he was limping badly, he was in pain just walking. Most of us in stands thought he should be redshirted. Probably now that isn't possible. If he is 70% he is a painful 70% based upon seeing him.

Maybe they rest him tonight?

Re: Is Wes still getting better?
According to Wes, he is fine, and has been for about 2 weeks. His foot doesn't bother him at all anymore. He says he's playing about 95%. I think his problem isn't the injury directly, but the impact it had on his conditioning.

Re: Is Wes still getting better?
I wonder if he is still playing a little hurt mentally too. Sometimes when you get banged up it's hard to go out and do the same things you used too because you've been playing to protect the injury for so long.

Re: Is Wes still getting better?
The good thing is he is still knocking down that jumper, which is allowing him to be effective without having to strain the leg as much.

Re: Is Wes still getting better?
Wes looks smooth again. No more limp. Looks like a quickness and conditioning factor. Dont forget he switched positions so that is making him look a bit slower at times.
