MBB "Pink-out" game questions
So I have seen a couple commercials that I believe state that the "pink-out" game to support breast cancer is against Missouri the week the students come back from break. I was at the game against Albany and they had a video board announcement taht said it was going to be on Febr. 9th at 7:30 against missouri. Well if you look at the schedule we play Missouri Jan 16 at 7 pm. The game that is suppose to be on Feb 9th is against Texas at 7 pm.
As there is a bunch of conflicting information, anyone know the exact dates of this??
Sorry for the confusion, just seen a couple different advertisements and they all say something different.

Re: MBB "Pink-out" game questions
If we do pink-out against Texas, that's gonna be pathetic.

Re: MBB "Pink-out" game questions
I hate these "color" days... This one is for a cause so I will not dog on it, but the cardinal and gold days in football are silly. It is too much of a fad, and everyone is doing it.

Well shouldn't it be done in accordance with "Breast Cancer week"?

Re: MBB "Pink-out" game questions
The Pink out is probably for the women's game Feb. 9 against Missouri at 7:30 p.m.
This is part of the WBCA "Think Pink" week. Teams had the choice of buying pink uniforms to wear and other things involved with it. I know our coaching staff at Coe normally wears the tennis shoes that most of the coaches around the country do that Saturday.

Re: MBB "Pink-out" game questions
I don't mind the 'color' days if they make sense, like a gold day against Nebraska. In general though, they annoy me a little.

Re: MBB "Pink-out" game questions
I don't mind the "color" days, as long as everybody, or most people, participate. I think it can look cool. But it can be a hassle.
The pink out is going for a good cause, so I'm all for it.
As for which game we are doing it at, I have heard from several people that it was during the Texas game (2/9). I'm sure the incorrect information will be corrected very soon.

Re: MBB "Pink-out" game questions
Question about the Color Days (at least for football):
Does anyone else think that Golden Rules day will pick up with the availability of gold colored shirts/sweats? I have two shirts that are gold after the new logo was announced, but only had my free one from being a student before that.

I have been to KSU twice now and their fans get it, it is purple day for every game and they get near 100% participation.

We actually get around 90% participation for Cardinal games, but the past couple years, Gold was lacking. I know they've been selling more Gold colored stuff lately, so I think it could pick up in participation if people are willing to do so.

Then again, they really only have one primary school color whereas we have two. They also never had to deal with an absurd tertiary accent color that somehow got made into a disproportionately large section of school clothing... ISU fans haven't quite gotten it in regards to how to dress for athletic events. Seems like most of the non-diehard fans think that throwing on any old thing with an "ISU" on it is acceptable, regardless of color. I always see lots of gray, or blue, or pink clothing from the general public whenever I'm in Hilton. People don't understand that that's great for everyday wear, but when you're at an actual event you need to wear either cardinal or gold or both, and that's it.

I also remember a game with Kansas when Cy (wore a huge suit then) went out to center field, squatted, and "pooped" a couple of chickens that had been dyed blue then chased them around.

Re: MBB "Pink-out" game questions
The color games can look very cool when executed properly. We don't execute it worth a crap. Penn State looks awesome when they have the white out. And as much as I hate to say it, Iowa does a pretty good job with gold days as well. The atmosphere at Kinnick looked pretty great for the Ohio State game last year. Until the game started and everyone realized how superior OSU was, I mean.

He'll come flying out of nowhere with a calm, deferential, yet factually half-baked rebuttal!
Sorry, had to do it.

When you talk about wearing colors to the game Penn St.'s whiteout is awesome, but having 21,000 in the student section sure does help, yes I am jealous.
