Mike T. Still Wants a Degree
Idaho Press-Tribune
“Everything’s in the past right now,” said Taylor. “I’m moving on right now. All that happened to me, it’s a part of my story that I’ve got to tell right now, and I’m using it as a learning lesson. Everybody has their own unique story to tell.”
Taylor plans to complete his degree at Iowa State during the summer. He said he’s 22 credits away from graduation.
Good for him.

Re: Mike T. Still Wants a Degree
I think Mike is a nice kid, but I'll believe that when I see it.
I still would have loved to see what he could do with more talent around him this year.

He sounds like he has grown up since he left. Good for him and hopefully he gets a degree.

Anyone know what his area of study is??

I'm proud of Mike T...And i'm glad he's going to be back in Ames!

I hope he follows through. Everyone learns a different way and at a different pace. I wish he would've learned without all the lumps - but hopefully he'll be better for it...

Good for Mike - sounds like his priorities are in the right place. I hope he is treated well by everyone upon his return.

Re: Mike T. Still Wants a Degree
If he plans on doing all 22 credits this summer, well, he's insane. I've never done more than 15 and it was more than I ever want to do again. With one exception I've never heard of anyone ever doing more than 18, and the one person that I know of did 21 at UNI (she had a double major-double minor thing going on that involved counseling, social work, Spanish and Portuguese - last I heard she's now some inner-city counselor in Chicago). She had no social life whatsoever, and this was over the course of a standard semester, not a summer. From Taylor's public persona he certainly doesn't have the brainpower that my friend has...

Re: Mike T. Still Wants a Degree
I did 21 one semester. It was after I decided school wasn't just a party and I needed to get my *** in gear. I actually got my best GPA I had ever had that semester as well.

Re: Mike T. Still Wants a Degree
I also took 21 in a semester. And summer is different than regular semester. He could take 11 the first session and 11 the second session, which is really only 3-4 classes each session.
But I don't think they are saying he's planning on taking all 21 credits this summer. It just said he is coming back to school this summer and needs 22 credits to graduate.

Re: Mike T. Still Wants a Degree
I could see him doing it in consecutive summers. Or possibly this summer and fall. He could be a help to our young guards in summer pick-up games...and maybe even play in the Cap City League.

Re: Mike T. Still Wants a Degree
That would be awesome if he came back to the Cap City League. He was an awesome player to watch (even if he did shoot it 40 times a game)

Re: Mike T. Still Wants a Degree
are pros aloud to play in cap city games? (sorry i have been gone the last 2 summers so really dont know much about it..except for what i hear when i get back..)
Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative. ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other." -
Re: Mike T. Still Wants a Degree
Yeah, Korver has played and a guy I used to work with used to play in the league, he was a former Seton Hall player and played in Europe for a while.
