Garrett is already our best option at PG, and needs the experience because you never know what will happen with Buckley. Even if Buckley is the man Diante will need to play some PG in the coming years, with what I expect will be a 4 man rotation in our 2 guard spots.....Diante, Buckley, Lucca, and Eik. WJ at the 3, Craig at the 4, and ???? down low. I like the offensive options with basically two 3's on the court in Craig and WJ, and they'll have to shore up the post defense a little.

Oh, and Craig and WJ need to take like 80% of our shots this year. We went away from them too often and for too long.

Here is how you find out if you have a Big XII point guard.

If a defender plays agressive defense, and the point guard turns his back to make sure he doesn't turn it over...you have a DIII point guard.

If a defender comes at him agressively and he takes him off the dribble with confidence...you have a DI point guard.

That's why you play Garret and Boozer before Peterson. Much more confidence and quickness.

I want him shooting at least 10 a game at that rate. He's our best shooter...what does that say about things.

Hopefully Lucca, Buckley, and our sharp-shooting friend from Nebraska can come in and contribute next year. Brackins and Wes Johnson are too good of combo to waste on .500 seasons. I'm not overly discouraged by this game, though. Never easy on the road and Baylor is a legit team. Next two games will be interesting.

Brackins impressed the hell out of me. that being said I think he came in shooting 22% from three. He was the reason the game was close.

If ya'll had any guards to take some pressure off, we very well could have lost.

Diante had 7 assists but 6 turnovers. He reminds me too much of Mike Taylor as far as his decision thinking goes. His turnovers seem to come at the worst times (like the one at the end of the first half). I do agree that we don't have much choice though. Brian Peterson doesn't seem to play well against good competition. Baylor has 5 guards that are better than any of our guards. How does that happen?

Haluska is garbage 0-24 on 3's, peterson shouldn't be starting, and why didnt brackins get the ball until late in the 2nd half. Isu shouldve won that game.

I think Brackins will be Rookie and Player of the week in the Big 12. That was just a dominant performance from nevernever land. Maybe he shoud play the 2! jk
I agree with everything you said! Rahshon has an issue with being too unselfish...it's very annoying. Especially when everyone else on the team has no problem with it. CJ should not have been in the game at crunch time. Horrible decision by Coach Mac.

Craig shot the ball well, but still didn't rebound and had a ton of to's.

I think Petey is slow, but he still took care of the ball better than DG. DG is EXACTLY like Mike T, but he can't shoot. Coach needs to tell him to settle down and not force things so much.

So why did he wait until the end of the game to do this if it was such a good idea?

Re: ISU vs Baylor Post Game Thread

What's most disappointing about the loss is all of the mental mistakes in key times of the game. Brackins and Garrett were the main culprits of this, and we have to remember that they were both playing in their first conference game and haven't really been in hostile environments.

The good thing is that this will only get better, as I believe Mac is a great teacher, and will certainly be working on decision making in the film room.
