He should be banging down low and every once in a while popping outside for the 3. Not living on the 3 point line.
Wes is playing a SG hi-brid role. I think he had more rebounds than anybody else. (I didnt check stats before I wrote this)
At any rate, we needed Jiri to show up in a big way and he got in foul trouble early against somebody he should of owned tonight. Not the output we needed from him.
Peterson looked completly outmatched. He looked timid. Scared to mess up. It has become evident that he is losing time to Garret and he doesn't want to make a mistake in fear of losing time. Hopefully it was just a bad game.
Haluska, .... looks like he isn't going to seeing much time if he is just going to be sitting on the 3 point line.. and then missing the shots he takes.
C Lee - Why wouldn't he get more time if we were going against a 3 guard lineup all night and getting burned by it. We need somebody out there to play some man up D. Especially with Rahshon's ankle getting tweeked.
Overall disappointed with the effort but hopefully this will be a good gauge for all the newcomers to realize what Big 12 bball is all about. Obviously Baylor is better than they have been in the past but they are still in the bottom half of Big 12. This should have been a win.
Off the subject, how long before other schools look at Drew for their openings?? Look at what he has done there! Taking a completely awful program, at it lowest point possible due to the murders and making them fairly respectable. I don't think he will be there much longer.
rant over. I have to disagree with some of what you said. Baylor is better than you give them credit for. They are not nessesarily bottom half (in the Big 12 this year bottom half is still mighty good).
We also have to remember that Lee has had bad ankles As fans we have no idea how healthy he is. This is also the first Big 12 game, on the road, for a large number of the team. This will be a trying season for the team and the fans. And it won't get better by our having unrealistic expectations and continually complaining about the choices made by the coachs. The latter was not aimed at you but at many of the other posters.

rant over. Good post. I was thinking about the samething on Drew, during the game. That program was rock bottom and left for dead and he has done more with it than those before him. He needs to get a better job elsewhere and there is no reason for him not to, if they finish strong. He needs to get out before he has to build it again in a few years. What he is doing at Baylor should give everyone hope.

peterson and haluska were not the reason
ISU lost, gee u sure it wasnt Brock Jacobsens fault too? It was awesome to see Brackins explode! Jiri recieved his 2 quick phantom fouls like clockwork. Buckley better be ready to be 'the man' next yr.

I'm pretty sure none of the comments or threads we post will make our season any better, but that is the point of this site. God forbid someone make a comment that Mac made a bad decision! It's ok to point out the players for their mistakes but not the coach?

Re: Wesley's role??
It's hard for me to keep up with all the substitutions by watching a TV screen and not able to hear the announcers, but didn't this team make their run in the first half with Garrett, Peterson, Wesley , Rashon, and Brakins on the floor together for most of that run? I maintain that is the best lineup against teams that feature a multitude of guards and are not great physically.

I know some here will have a tough time believe that, but go watch the replay, it's true.

I am pretty sure it was Garrett, Wes, Rashon, Brackins and Thompson.

I think you are right, however when Baylor made their big run I believe Garrett made a few mistakes. Garrett will play a lot in some games and not a lot in others. When the opposition is pressuring our guards I think you'll see him more than BP.
I think Baylor will be a team that wins a lot at home. Look for them to be no worse than .500 overall in conference play.

Your right snow, Thompson has been a spark
