Re: Rahshon Clark
There are a whole lot of Bruce Bowen comparisons, but who he really reminds me of on the court is Ron Harper. NBA.com: Ron Harper Bio
For those of you who don't remember the second half of the Chicago Bull dynasty, Harper was brought in to be the defensive stopper at the 2 so MJ (aside from being one of the best defensive players of his time) could focus more energy and play more minutes putting the ball in the hoop. When Phil Jackson didn't need Kerr draining 3's, he would play MJ and Harper at the same time, which was a lethal combo and matchup problem for anybody.
IMO Rahshon's every bit as athletic as Harper, who was also 6'-6", but he's got to get bigger, stronger, and tougher if he wants to make a living containing the Kobe's of the world.
Like everyone else is saying, for right now I'm just happy he's a Cyclone.

Re: Rahshon Clark
In the book The Jordan Rules it says that Harper was extremely overrated, lazy, and not nearly as good of a defender as people thought he was. Phil Jackson really wasn't happy with him on the Bulls. I think Rahshon is nothing like him at all except size wise.

Re: Rahshon Clark
13, I agree it is a no brainer that he COULD play overseas if he so desires.
In fact, he would likely be at a much higher (competition and salary) level than Jessan based both on his resume and his athletic ability. I am not sure if he can break the tier 1 level (i.e., Greece and Spain), but that will depend on how he finishes the year. As much as I appreciate him and everything he has done for the program, my guess is probably not.
Another question is would he rather receive substantially less pay and take his chances in the NBDL instead of going overseas. If he ends up being very close to making an NBA roster, that may be the better option short term (i.e., he could get called up during the season whereas you have to wait a year if you are lighting it up in Europe).
On the flip side, another concern is the longer you wait (i.e., the more NBA pre-season camps you attend), the narrower the overseas options get. So, ironically, if he does well enough to get invites to NBA camps but not well enough to stick on any roster, he could actually decrease the amount of salary he would get overseas. It is an odd and difficult process.
After watching him four years, my suggestion is he should do whatever it takes to try to get drafted (and play in the NBA Summer League if invited), but focus on trying to get the best European (or other overseas) gig if he does not get drafted.

Re: Rahshon Clark
there are always those players from other teams that seem like they have been there forever..if i was a fan of another team in the big 12 it would seem to me that clark has played here forever. Too bad we can't have him for one more year, I will miss him, and he will always be one of my all time favs at ISU!

Here's to hoping for a succesful profesional career. If not, I would certainly feel safer knowing that he is helping me out as a part of law enforcement!

Re: Rahshon Clark
If he doesn't make the NBA, I would love it if he caught on in Greece. Especially on AEK, my favorite team there.

Re: Rahshon Clark
To me, he's always going to be the one who kept the team together during the Morgan to McDermott transition. That was a bold move for a sophmore with a wealth of potential.
On a personal note, I can't thank him enough for being the kind of person that I am proud to let my 4 year old son look up to. He is well spoken, he's a hard worker, he stays out of trouble, he's a class act on the court, and he has been very humble and friendly the few times I have crossed paths him in public. In today's world that's hard to come by, especially with the pressure of playing D1 ball. He has single-handedly turned my son into a Cyclone for life.

Harper was a good scorer in college also. Rashon can jump much better than Harper. His vertical is how high?

NBA scouts really like players who play above the rim.

Re: Rahshon Clark
There is always the NDBL team here in Des Moines too. A guy like Rahshon would be fun to watch and help sell tickets although I know they pay a lot better overseas. I hope we eventually get an ISU connection on the Energy team as I might actually go watch a few more games then. Went to 1 this winter and liked it but I really don't have a player I care much for on the team to keep going back frequently.
