    Silence vs. annoyance

I enjoyed the comment of the 55 year old guy behind me who kept giving his approval or nonapproval of everything that happened during the game.

    Quotes from his mouth:

    "Diante STOP Dribbling"
" I hate that Petersen, he does NOTHING"
"Haluska is terrible, SO is Thompson they shouldnt play"
"Oooh Clark is really hurt, I hope they get him back to the lockerrom so they can put him on 'the machine'"
"Brackins had one good game all he does now is shoot"

    And many more.

I guess I just like the Cyclones and enjoy cheering for us no matter who has the ball. Also, it gets tired hounding on the refs for every call. SURE during a really bad one every now and then (as happened yesterday)... but calling for 3 seconds, over the back, hand checks, and palming is COMPLETELY annoying.

I didnt let one dude ruin my fun. Great crowd, great fun. I feel better with that off my chest.

Win or lose, it's a known fact some of our fans will complain.

that is just fans in general, thats how we are. when teams are bad they need to be good, if they are good they need to be great. that is just how sports work.

Hmmm. This sounded like a Nebraska football fan. Guess these fans are everywhere. They call them Negative Nellies.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style.

an old guy, 60+ years old, kept calling for intentional fouls yesterday. I saw him cross his arms and yell "INTENTIONAL" at least 3 times. not annoying, just funny.

    Re: Silence vs. annoyance

I had a woman and a man who had scored their company's tickets for their first trip to Hilton since they graduated (apparently 15 years or so ago) sitting behind me. They demonstrated one of my pet peeves - really crappy cheering/yelling, and/or overly-complicated cheers. "Play some good defense!" is NOT a good cheer. "Let's go, team - right down the middle" - we were on defense!

    Re: Silence vs. annoyance

I have a friend who only goes to restaurants so he can complain about the service / food /ambiance. He takes great joy in complaining.

If everything is acceptable and the service is good to above - average, he goes into a 2 week depression and eats pbj's at home.

    Negativity breeds an unhealthy lifestyle.

    Re: Silence vs. annoyance

Pollyannas sometime confuse negativity and realism.

As long as someone is not vulgar, I don't mind the 'negative' fan comments, especially when you see they know the game. I know it's not the same thing, but a great percentage of GMac's game comments would probably considered very negative by some.

There was one lady Saturdy, that everytime Wesley got the ball, she would immiediatly yell shoot it. Each time she yelled, he had a defender in his face, or just got the ball, or was not set. It became almost funnty to wait for her shout.
