From today's Quad City Times
Davenport Central star L.A. Pomlee said he has narrowed his list of college choices to three schools.
Wisconsin, Iowa State and West Virginia are the finalists in the quest for the 6-foot-8 center.
"West Virginia has been in for a home visit and I went up to Wisconsin already," Pomlee said after Central's 47-37 victory over Pleasant Valley. "I haven't been to Iowa State yet."
Various recruiting web sites also have linked Pomlee to Iowa, Bradley, DePaul and Providence, but Pomlee said those schools are not in the running.

I think that it interesting that we are always on Pomlee's list despite him never visiting. I know there are concerns about his not being able to qualify, health, etc., but I would love to see him in this class. He has a long reach and has good defensive skills, which GMAC likes. He is also very athletic. I think GMAC would be a good fit for him to improve offensive output. I don't want to loose an in state recruit to Thuggy Bear at WV.

Isn't the real question: where is Appleton going to end up? I realize he's a Juco and a guard, and Pomlee would be a frosh and big man, but there aren't a whole lot of roster voids. If I had to guess who the coaching staff is higher on, based on interest and attendance in games, I'd say Appleton's the priority. But that doesn't necessarily mean they aren't high on Pomlee. He could be a distinguished guest very soon.

Now all he needs are offers, right? Does he have any offers?

My lil bro went to HS with him and played on the same team, he told me that he is very high on Wisconsin, but they wont take him unless he really improve his grades.

This definitely concerns me with the new APR rules. It would be a double blow for him to both be ineligible and to cost us a scholarship on top of it.

At this point, we can't afford to take any chances. | | |

His high school adm says he wants to go to Wisc but this kid is not going to qualify.
He will be a recruit in 2010

So he will probably go the prep route? I have been impressed by Pomlee since his sophomore year, and I think he would create a pretty scary, athletic frontcourt with Craig. Hopefully, he can get his grades up. If not, he could always go play for Huggins.

I am sure Huggins will figure out a way to get him qualified....lol. He seems to have a knack for doing that.

Scout has Iowa State as the only school he has high interest in.
